The Dartford Cemetery is an old cemetery located in town. Residents live all around it. It has been haunted for many years. The main activities are dark figures such as shadows, and figures. Noises can also be heard. Most often figures seen are of civil war era soldiers, an Indian chief that once ruled and lived in the Ripon/Green Lake/ Princeton area (he apparently died while drunk when he was bet he could not swim across the fox river. He didn't make it and drowned.) The other main figure is members of a family. The children died of a disease, possibly polio They have a large stone building for their graves which holds plots for all the family members. At times, a person may sit on the roof and get pushed off. Orbs can also be seen, and feelings of being followed and watched.
Apparently this did air on the Discovery Channel's A Haunting.... The episode inparticular is titled "Legend Trippers." I took the liberty of summing it up for those that have not seen the episode.
Basically, three teenage boys went out on Halloween of 2005 to make their way to the mausoleum. Along the way, one of the boys was checking out a grave when he suddenly felt like his leg was grabbed. When the boys eventually reach the mausoleum, one of them sits on it and gets pushed off by an unseen force. At this point, two of the boys head back to the car, leaving the third behind. Now alone, this particular male teenager roams around to the oldest part of the cememtery until he sees a row of seven tombstones that look exactly a like. He thought he saw something, so he looked away from the tombstones and when he looked back at them, there were only five. He supposedly saw two children as well. Skipping ahead, in the fall of 2006, three more teenagers (two boys and one girl) heard of the rumors and headed out to the cemetery. All three of them sat on the mausoleum, while the boy in the middle told of the ghost stories. After he finished, he was pushed off along with the rest of his friends by the unseen force.
The episode also said that this is an old pioneer cemetery.
For those of you that are curious, I checked the rumor about this supposed murder and came up dry. There was no murder. Infact, Green Lake's violent crime rate is 1, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.
