Many apparitions have been seen on this road at night. Horse and buggy sightings are common, as well as a female hitch hiker by the name of Abigail. A respected burlington police officer is now in a mental facility because he attempted to bring this hitch hiker home, only to have her dissapear before shutting the door of his cruiser.

zignewsted Bristol, CT Last Seen: 6/5/2008 12:09:00 AM       Comment# 11359     3/30/2008 3:44:00 AM       Edit / Flag       Reply To This I've heard a lot about this area myself being from Bristol, but i've seen conflicting websites refering to it as Lampson Corner Cemetary (On Route 69) and others as Lampson Corner.  Lampson Corner as far as I know sits near the area wiped out by small pox, there is a concrete block at the edge of the woods there and supposedly on that road is where the village once was.  I do have to agree, that whole area is rather creepy, especially at night.

I've never seen anything. But it is VERY creepy. The first time I drove down it was at night and I thought it was the longest street ever!!  Haha ..There are only street lights at the begining Bristol end, then there are NONE .. And there are only houses at the begining and end of the street. And there is no phone servicer AT ALL on the main stretch, where there are no houses or streetlights I know exactly when I will lose service and when I will get it back. Lamsons corner cemetery is on 69 at the end in Burlington. The entrance of the road you are talking about is blocked off. I didn't know that it used to be the road where the village once was. I went bike riding down that path and it very well could have been the old road. Because there is a side entrance into the cemetery of that path. But that too has huge rocks blocking it.

There was suppose to be a old town called polkville that was wiped out by small pox(you mentioned it before) and that is the cemetery where everyone was burried. And I had to go past Hill st. So on my way back I decided to take that street back to Burlington. I drove past the Church of Eternal Light and what is creepy is as soon as you pass the church you are in Burlington and it gets all gloomy.. lol I saw a guy taking pics of the church.. I was tempted to stop and chat with him, but I had to get home.  So anyways.. When I got to rt 69 and Lamson Cemetery was in front of me path we were talking about has a bulldozer thing in it and they were cutting down trees in the path. I wonder what they are doing there..

And I was like HMMM! WEIRD. Cause the EXACT same place they said the village was when I was biking my chain broke in that spot!! And I had to walk my bike all the way back!

Anyways, I have been there three times. Word to the wise: we have experienced a vicious being (i.e. scratches on my back...)up there, but only when there was a guy with us. It appears as a black mass, but it just looks like a shadow of a man, you know, broad shoulders, but I had gone up one other time with a friend of mine (female), and, nothing. Its strange. I dunno if it is all guys, or just the one I bring. The 'shadow man' literally will chase us out. Anyone who goes up there, let me know if its all men or is my brother just the only 'lucky' one out there? Also, we have heard a very very faint child laughing just once, and it did not last long at all. Has anyone experienced anything at all similar to me? Just wondering...

The cemetary I was talking about in the post above me is located in Burlington. Everyone calls it 'corner cemetary'. There is that brand new cumberland farms, just follow that road up until you see the cemetary on a hill on the left. You have to climb over the wall that surrounds it just to get into the cemetary. But like I said before, watch out for the shadow man. We went up there tuesday night and couldn't even get into the cemetary. He was right at the entrance we use.

There is a main entrance in the front blocked off by a chain. And there is another entrance on the right hand side that is blocked off by rocks but you can walk between them. If you go to www.creepyconnecticut.net there is a pic of the side entrance on that site. And its Lamson Corner Cemetery, there is actually a place for it on this site we are on right now. But you have to go the the creepy ct site! Its got SOOO much info!! :)

Also on the stone rd forest there is a old jail and i heard of a man named swampy who use to live in the woods. This is not made up. also there is another cemetary called geen lady near the burington highschool down a dirt road that is suppose to be hunted too. Being from burlington i know of alot of trails that people may not know of, used to be avid biker.

kurt72 Last Seen: 7/11/2008 3:46:44 PM       Comment# 15286     7/11/2008 6:00:00 PM       Edit / Flag       Reply To This i lived on stone rd. my grandfather was born in the big white house on the corner of main st and stone rd. my mom was raised in burlington. we moved back in 86. i left in 94. my dad still lives on stone rd. when i was in high school, i was walking home from a party. coming from norwood road. had to walk the whole way through stone rd. now i had heard of this guy "swampy". killed or raped him mother, or something like that. lived in the woods of stone road. he ate live chicken, or rats or something. well that night, as i was walking in the dark, i saw a figure. he walked up to me, asked to bum a smoke, asked where i was going, shook my hand and introduced himself to me as swampy. i was about 6' tall, and he was shorter than me. he had long greasy black hair. he was wearing a faded denim jacket same as me. i was 15 at the time. he couldn't have been more thatn early 20's.   about a year later, a guy i knew pulled up in his car. there were a bunch of us around. people asked who that guy was with such and such in the car? i said it was swampy. knowbody belived me. they thought swampy was an old man who was supposed to be a serial killer. but when i called out his name, "hey, swampy", the long black greasy haired individual just smiled and waved. the dude, swampy, looked like a total stoner.

They went to Green Lady Cemetery. The driver was trying to show-off by tramping on the grave-site of "the green lady" and screaming obscenities. Nothing happened at the cemetery, but on their way home, a tragedy happened. The driver lost control of the car and rolled it. The car rolled for 200 feet, my daughter was thrown from the car and struck a tree. Thank God, she survived with a fractured skull, hematoma, broken arm and 11 inch gash in her side. The kicker of the story: the accident happened on rt.69 right at the entrance to Lampson's Cemetery. To this day, she will not travel on that road or visit the Green Lady Cemetery because she feels very strongly that SOMETHING supernatural played a part in their accident. The driver was not drinking, and he was not speeding. How could their car roll for 200 feet if they were not speeding???

I wonder if that could be the same guy that a couple of people are refering too. They have a case about him on creepy Connecticut but they havent posted anything for it yet. Wonder if everything is all connected. Interesting.....

This Mother looked crazy!
