I`ve been there and I can tell you it`s not the cemetery that`s the issue! It`s the vacant lot across the street where there used to be a church. The story is the Pastor of this church molested the altar boys and when the town found out they hung the Pastor from the big tree out front and then burned the church since it was no longer sacred. When I went there I was unaware of the whole story but that area literally frightened me. My friend and I heard long slow scraping noises on the street coming from both directions only while we had our backs to the vacant lot. We decided to leave because we felt unwelcome. After I read up on the story and got all the info we went back. I felt just as uneasy but this time we actually walked through the cemetery. The cemetery itself was actually quite peaceful and seemed like a safe zone from the darkness across the street.

the story i was told was that the pastor of the church went insane one day and burnt down the church right before there was a service and he burnt it down with all the people in it and walked inside to die too but while it was happening he was laughing.

Hankey Church was a favorite destination of mine while I was in high school. Here is a paraphrase of the story we told the girls : "There was a pastor of the church in the lot that is now vacant. One day, the church burned down with his wife and kids in it. He was so devastated that he hung himself from the big tree (point dramatically to the tree next to the gate). It is said that his spirit still roams around the cemetery and if you leave the gate open, he follows you out. Some say you have to drive away with your windows open so his spirit can escape your car." I've probably hung out in the cemetery on thirty separate occasions. I was only scared once. It was in the fall, and it hadn't rained in a while. There were dry leaves fallen all over the cemetery. As I was walking through, I must have stepped on a snake or a mouse under the leaves, because I kept hearing them rustle under my feet. It scared the crap out of me, but, as I said, it was probably a mouse or a snake. Another time we thought we saw a truck speeding up from the direction of the golf course, headed towards Saltsburg. It had all kinds of lights and appeared to be going way to fast to make the sharp bend. We figured it was a ghost truck and thought it was pretty cool. Sorry for the long post, but I have a few other stories if people are interested!

Why does every decent haunted story have to include some dumb fable about slaughter, murder, and some elderly psychopath?? Can't a good haunted place exist without all the nonsense??

I've been to this cemetery several times. I never bought the story of why people think it's haunted but I can say for certain it is. I saw a mist rise off of a tree shaped grave that seemed to form a face. We also had our car completely die in front of the cemetery then turn itself back on about ten minutes later when none of us were in it. There is a grave towards the back that glows. I saw a white figure run from the fence in the front to the woods in the back. several times when turning onto the road the cemetery's on animals will step out in front of your car and stare at you (once it was a deer, a rabbit, and a groundhog all at the same time). It's really creepy as if they're trying to stop you. Once while driving past in the middle of the day I felt someone slap my arm. So many things have happened there it would be impossible to name them all here. Trust me when I tell you there are things there. I'm not sure what. I'd always been a skeptical person and didn't believe any of this until I saw it myself.

I had a strange experience at this site a few years back. I was visiting the area from out of town and my friend told me about this graveyard that was supposed to be 'haunted.' I had been around other haunted places and was quite disturbed about his invitation to spend time at the cemetery. As the day went on the only way my friend convinced me to go with him to the spooky spot was to entice me with a 6-pack of beer. After finishing the socialable six we went in past the gates. That's when things got crazy! I was a little freaked out to begin with but it really tweaked me out when I had to urinate (all the beers caught up with me). There weren't any w.c.s around so i decided to go behind a tree. I left my friend and headed behind a big oak tree. I unzipped and prepared my stance but then... nothing... I couldn't pee! That had never happened before, ever. It freaked me out so bad I ran out of the gates and back to the car where I was able to hide behind and finally urinate. I haven't been back since.

I just want all of you who are searching for a creepy story to know, these stories are ALL FAKE, i've been up to the cemetary ATLEAST 50 times and nothing has happened. I went there every year when i was in highschool and recently visited there, and it was still the same old boring place, where people only go if they want to believe something is happening. The people didn't burn down the church, nor did the priest rape or molest the alter boys. There actually was no church at all, the cemetary and street were just given that name for a church that was going to be built but never was. Please people, save your time, and do not go to Hankey Church Cemetary

Just an FYI  you might want to do a little more research.  There indeed was really a Hankey Church.

Sorry to tell you, but you are wrong....there was a chruch at that location.  It was erected in 1817 and names after the gentleman that donated the land for the church.

Hankey Church Cemetery is really haunted. I have been there a total of 4 times and will never go back. The first two times nothing happened. As for the 3rd time, me and my friend Kristen went to the movies to see The Exorcism of Emily Rose. After the movies was over I said hey lets go to a haunted place, I told her the background of the place from what Ive read and told her nothing has happened to me though but she said shed go anyways for fun. Well when we got there, there the gate was closed. When we went in there was palm everywhere and its wasnt anywhere close to being palm sunday (catholics you know what I mean) so I think someone tried to bless the place. Me and Kristen looked around, when we went to the back of the cemetery there are some small graves and when I bent down to look at one a strange vibrating sound was right next to my ear and is was loud and sounded like a pager went off. I jumped and screamed. Then Kristen said to me What was that? and I said you heard it too?! and I asked her if she had her pager on her and she said no and I told her neither do I. We then just ruled it out as a bug even though it was too cold to be a bug but whatever. We walked to the other side of the cemetery and then we heard the vibrating sound again and we looked at each other and decided to leave. Its sound sounded electronic and you could tell it was in mid air and it was the same thing that was next to my ear just minutes before. We left and went home. Next day I had a baby shower to go to. When I came my mother asked me if I wanted to go to my grams with her and I said no I'm too tired. So she left and I layed down in bed. Next thing I know, I hear that vibrating sound again right next to me in mid air. I kept my eyes closed because I was afraid to look. I turned over on my side, pulled the covers over my head and ignored it. When my mom came home later I told her about it. She didnt think much of it. Then a week later she said to me, "Oh by the way I forgot to tell you, I heard that vibrating sound you were talking about." I said really and asked what happened. She said she got out of the tub, blow dried her hair and started fixing it then all the sudden she hear a vibrating sound just like a page like I said in mid air. I asked her if she was scarred and she said no and that she laughed because she couldnt believe she actually heard it.

As for my 4th and FINAL trip this was just recently. I went with my friend Brian and John who was in an episode of paranormal state and knows a decent bit about spiritual activity. We went to the cemetery and he brough his franks box and ovulus. It was picking up words such as mother, remember, fell, parish, church, I am Seth, Laila, momma, sorry, John, smile, smells, Brian, etc..  A lot of it at that time was repetitive. When John tried it it didnt say that much for him so he gave it back to me and it would chatter away to me saying words. I had a few short conversations but didnt think much of it. After a while I said lets go across the street where the church was. So we went over there, the ovulus was saying to me church, priest, boys, burn, cross, sorry, hot and kept repeating them. When I gave it to Brian it didnt say much to him at all and he gave it back to me then it said to me I am light I remember you. Seth demon run Seth demon. then I didnt get nothing. Then it said I am Seth. I said "Seth, I dont want to talk to you because I just heard you were a demon and I dont want to talk to a demon" The ovulus then said "You bitch" and I said "I'm what?!" and it said "You slut" and i ripped the ear piece outta my ears and felt instantly nauseated like I was goin to throw up then handed the device to John and said I'm gonna puke and he grabbed his holy water and put it on me and it went away.  Now the ovulus has a 500 word vocabulary that its only supposed to be able to say. Bitch, slut, mother, Seth, John, etc are not on the list. My friend John has checked with others and have not had this problem with it saying words on the list that werent there and believe whatever or whoever this Seth guy was definatly paranormal which got through and was definately negative energy. After being cussed out by a ghost and then about to puke. I will NEVER AGAIN set foot in that cemetery or be around it. Anyone if you choose to go there, please be protected and take the proper precautions that if you are faced with something that you wont bring it back with you or it wont attack you.

so tonight my friend dave and i decided to take a ride up to the cemetary real quick to kill time...we turn around to face the lot. i kill my headlights, radio, and shut off the car completely...i had a strange feeling that something was behind me but i just put that thought in the back of my head. So i flash my lights a few times about ten seconds later i hear thumbing noises on my trunk and im like dave did you hear that? Hes like yeah. So i start the car and peel outta there. After i dropped off dave passing the church i saw a misty fog and scattering bats and felt like i was being watched...this is not the first paranormal occurance i have experienced there

My buddy John today was checking his ovilus and Seth came through again. I told John to send me an email so I can exactly say what he told me. Here's his email:

Subject: words from ovilus
Body:
Okay here are the words I got in the 2 segments:

clip 1:
Nose(knows) it bornagain brave it sacred feel stretch devil armed mother grandma

clip 2:
seth blamed rest I am not gare(or garig) demon even(or stephen) word blade demon yond when rest when yond rest weary anvil when

After this it went quiet for 5 minutes and would not work again even after I changed the batteries. Eventually it started working again. Neither even or stephen are on the list, neither are brave, nose, knows, armed, yond, blame, blamed, weary, anvil, stretch or devil. Many of these words were crystal clear.

John

hey everyone just did some research, I am checking into the names of whos buried in hankey cemetery. I kept getting a Leilah. Theres a Delilah. check this out:

PRIEST - A.J. 1840 - 1899
PRIEST - Allen 1845 - 1937
PRIEST - Delilah  w/o Hankey died 1880 age 79y
PRIEST - Diana 1836 ----
PRIEST - Flora A. w/o Allen  1852 - 1906
PRIEST - Hankey died 1862 age 69y
REINHART - Alice B. 1860 - 1914

and I also found this under Histoy of Church:

* * *

Hankey Church

To get to the site of old Hankey Church, cross Route 286 and follow Logans Ferry Road north one mile, then turn right onto Hankey Church Road.  The cemetery with the white picket fence is on your right; the original log cabin and subsequently expanded church building was located in the grassy clearing across the road directly opposite the cemetery gate.  Through the gate and up the slope only a few yards are the graves of Daniel (1776 – 1828) and Catherine Best (177? – 1821) Hankey, nestled under a sprawling
bush.  There are also three Revolutionary War soldiers buried nearby:  Conrad Ludwig (1736 – 1833), Daniel Carpenter (1749 – 1827), and Capt. William Morris (dates unknown).

The Hankey farm (also spelled “Henke” in the original German) is now Rolling Hills Golf Course.  The location of the original homestead, located near the white farmhouse, is just barely visible from the back of the cemetery.

Sadly, the proud old church building that served Christ’s for a century caught fire under suspicious circumstances and was destroyed in August 1973.

This is John, I was with ToSweettobetrue out at Hanky cemetery. It's a pretty wild place. I don't know what happened there in the past but it must have been pretty extreme. Something is very active in the field where the church once stood. In addition to what she says above, at one point she said "where are you?" and the miniature Franks box said "where are you?" in response. It was weird.

Me and my boy shawn and his girl went there last night, he was there the night before and took some pics, and there was some orbes right behind him in the picture, but when we went I heard something weird and couldnt tell what it was, the graves were glowing from the moon, and when we walked towards the back we all felt a cold spot pass by us and everywhere else in the cemetary was warm. I looked up at the sky and saw a big x made out of clouds, and then i saw a weird flash one time, but other than that i felt weightless, and my friend jade that was with us heard voices but couldnt make out what the words were, and i had a strange feeling when we walked to the empty lot acrooss the road, and my other friends shawn and ian said they saw two people walk thru the cemetary last year but if you are bored, go check it out you might see something.

So here's an interesting but true fact about that property... and it is all factual! My mother and her siblings lived on that property years ago when she was a little girl and.... remembers nothing of the supernatural there. She and my aunts and uncles played hide and seek in that cemetery and nothing happened! And for the crazed pastor burning down the church... a couple of stupid kids burned down the church! I do believe in supernatural and probably a bunch of ignorant people brought the occult like oije boards in and messed with stuff that shouldn't be messed with. Question Everything!

I have lived across the street(and down a little) from this cemetery my ennnntttiiirrreee life, I've seen or heard absolutely nothing, except for 2 summers ago, apparently on the anniversiary of the hanging of the priest(which the story on this site is also incorrect, the KKK would congrigate behind the cemetery, and once the priest caught them, they hung him and burned his church(a Luthern church) to the ground), the tree was struck by lightning, and fell over, taking the fence with it. I'll upload pictures of the tree later, but I assure there are no "hauntings or weightlessness" in Hankey Church Cemetery, and if there are spirits, they want nothing to do with anyone that is living. Thanks for reading, Steff

I was at Hankey Church Cemetary this afternoon. I didn't stick around long enough to see glowing tombstones or cloud-like apparitions but I did catch a glimpse of the tree trunk-shaped tombstone, believed to be the center of paranormal activity, and I heard strange noises along Beighley Road (the long, winding road that branches off of Hankey Church)...they sounded like creaks, like someone was opening and closing a door repeatedly.

there is an old man who lives in the woods dressed in a leprachaun outfit. If you go there at night, he runs at you with his donger hanging out. While bolting at you he makes turkey noises. Rumor has it that he sedated you with some kind of spray which people remember to be a mist. He then takes you to a tree stump shaped grave and pokes you up the rear. After he leaves a gold coin on the spot. After he returns you to where he first sedated you and you wake up, you see a glow coming from the stump. Recently a local teenager reported that that a crazy leprachaun held her down and sh*t on her face. Don't go their.

Hey, You people are way off! I lived a big part of my life and grew up on "Hankey Church Farm" next to the Church. It was a 130 ac. farm right off Hankey Church Road. I would catch my school bus in front of the cemetary near the mail boxes. Fact , the Church burned down around 73 and my family has an idea who did it. Kids !!! I won't say any names. Over nine years that I lived there, didn't see a thing, hear a thing, or smell a thing. I picked fresh strawberries on the outline of the cemetary in the back. I played in the cemetary, when I was old enough I went parking there as a teenager with my boyfriends. No ghosts !!! Spirits, clouds, noises. I could almost see the cemetary from my bedroom window. NOTHING.... I had friends that lived in the house next to the church. She was a dear friend of my mother and had many kids. I went horse back riding with a boy named Chick that lived in the house next to the church. The entire time I live on the farm, the church was abandoned and was not practicing any type of religion. When it burned down it was empty. I could tell you so many stories about the cemetary and church. I will pass this site to some of my relatives and friends, they might know something that I dopn't. Don't be afraid of the place !!! There is a great fishing hole not to farm from the church and cemetary. Ohhhhh forgot! I did see group of Devil practices in Black type long cloth type coats with hoods in a circle with candles. I saw then at least 8 times sitting in a circle. The next day I saw where the chairs sunk in the dirt and there was black candle wax on the ground. They never hurt us. For now....

The Church and cemetary is located in Westmorland County. It is not Plum, it is in Murryville or Sardis.... not Plum. Plum is near.

I grew up on Beighley road in the first farm house on the right, so I know the area and all the FAKE stories about the church. The church is in Murrysville not Plum Borough, and if you lived around the church you went to Franklin Regional School district. I attended Sardis elementary school so if you are fimilar with the area you know that is the truth. There was no hanging or KKK at the church or behind the cemetary it's all a bunch of ghost stories. At times like the one person stated there would be some satan or devil worship going on at the old church yard But that was it, and the church did burn down in 1973 or 74 and I know who did it.. I spent my childhood playing wiffle ball in the church yard and occasionaly sneeking into the old church. Never witnessed any thing crazy. I will admit that the cemetary can be spooky at night, but that's about it. By the way,the golf course next to the cemetary was the best sled riding I ever experienced.

There ways to be a large strawberry patch behind the cemetary in the mid- 60's. The berries was planted by the church prior to the 60's or earlier. I would pick buckets of large organic berries by the buckets. I went there this summer to see if I could pick some in the spring. Maybe I was there little to early, but I don't think so. They are gone! The field where they grew is all plowed under and sprayed. They should be ashamed of themselves. I went to a sercret place near for the blackberries and wow! yes large and sweet! I still run my dog in the area and in the cemetary. It is not haunted.

I live and have lived within 5 miles of this graveyard for most of my life. I never heard of it until I was in high school 87-89. I have been to the cemetary about 20 times. In the day it's really quite quaint with it's white wash fence and the view is awsome. At night it really could be the sight of any scary, about to jump from a grave and eat your face off movie. The rumors I always heard are of a priest who was secretly leading midnight dark masses. Eventually his congregation found out and hung him from the old tree across from the cemetary, just as you make the bend. It is said that this priest performed dark rituals that upset the undead and the church was burned due to the un-natural acts performed in it. As I said, I have been there many nights, some on Halloween. I never experienced anything per-say. But it is ripe with possibilities. I do feel differently there, but not afraid. Just as if someone is watching. My practice was to always walk over the graves and speak to them as if they were living. In otherwords, respect the dead and their area. I really never felt anything bad or evil. But I can tell you youngins, it does not evoke passionate response when taken to the area for a bit of making out. You feel as if someone really is watching, and my guess is quite disapprovingly:)

I could see the cemetary from my bedroom window and I knew the German family that lived at the church prior to burning down. Not Haunted at all. I played as a child in the cemetary and our property was along side the church property. Not haunted. This should be off the list of scary places. Oh well. Enjoy yourself there. Keep it clean and don't litter please or you be haunted by Big John!

We went here and waited under the tree at midnight... expecting to hear feet stepping on our roof... but to our dismay... the branch where the pastor was supposedly hung was cut down because people living in the area were complaining about too many people causing distubances to come see this phenomenon. When we drove past... the gate was closed. We drove about twenty feet ahead to turn around in the middle of the road.. and the gate was mysteriously open when we passed back not even a minute later.

Hey, I was just there today to run my dog. Nothing happened and my dog loves the cemetary. I guess the place knows me because I grew very close to the church. I knew the family that lived in the white house next to the church, back in the 70's.This place in not haunted.

i lived right down the road. on the golf course. by the 18th hole. in the white house. i can tell you many strange things that have happened there, along with pictures. The smell of rose in the one bedroom. The hearth of the fireplace was always unusually warm. Along with the sound of footsteps across the dining room followed by the smell of pipe tobacco late at night.

Hi, near 18th hole, How long did you live there? Did you live near Hanky Church farm? Did your family have the dairy farm in the 60's that sold milk across from the golf course? I am trying to find Melvan R. I moved to Florida and saw him last summer at the Ice Cream on 380. M.

Hello Everyone in Murrysville ! I am in florida, I moved here 20 years ago, but I in fact spent the night in the cemetary, and nothing happened except I did get lucky there! But seriously a few of us slept right in the cemetary. It is a really beautiful place that has the potential for people to make up stories about. My Mom and Dad may have been the last people to be married at the church, I knew the Mitales John used to tease me on the bus, I thought he was a big bully. The Ritters lived there, they were all really nice, sorry to spoil all of the rumors, but maybe there are some happy ghosts there or maybe some people bring out the spirits!

I used my metal detector there over 50 times and never felt anything strange. BUT I always found very old coins and the strangest thing was that at each corner of the cemetary on the side towards the golf course, I found stacks of silver half dollars, quarters, and dimes all neatly stacked on top of each other. This was very strange and I was told that 60 or more years ago, they may have been placed there to ward off evil spirits. Do I believe this? I sure do. Just watch Ghost Hunters on the science channel every Wednesday from 7 til Midnight.

I heard that the cemetary was haunted and so me and my dad went up trhere one day for just a few minutes. Whenever your on your way there its fine but its like as soon as you actually are right next to the cemetary, that you are unwelcome. We didnt get out of the car or anything, we just sat there with the windows opened, we were about to leave and started hearing a creaking noise like a coffin was opening or something..Me, my dad and a few of my friends just went there this morning from about 2:00-3:45 and there was a bunch of other people up there with flashlights and so we got out and walked around..well they were telling us how they saw shadows swaying in the cemetary and how they heard noises and saw just a bunch of shadows..well about four of the kids went to the other end and were shining the flashlight around the tombstones, well my friend ashley says, woah doesnt that look like some lady walking through there? and im like i dont see anything, where? and all of a sudden they put the light at this one part and theere was an older lady wearing like a white dress that was all torn and gross and her hair was all nasty and she was just standing there starring at them and they didnt even realize she was there..we were about to leave and our car lights started to go off randomly out of nowhere. well there is this one road connecting to the cemetary road and we went down and there are very few houses and when you go up this one part of the road there is a slaughter house where they used to kill animals and people, well there is dried blood all over the windows and it is just creepy.

I went about 2 - 3 months ago to this place. My buddy and his girlfriend got out of the car cause they were two people across the road looking to go into the cemetery. They went to jump over the fence, and got over and decided to come back, and the other two people did as well. Then they walked a little bit down the road and just disappeared out of nowhere. I have had scratches on the trunk of my car from the abandoned lot across the road from the church. I have even been told that the one time I went up with a group of friends in two different cars that a tall white apparition lunged at my car.

this is a truue story.

me ciara and ouur friend nick went up to hankey cemetary tonight. we were driving up ther and we parked ouur truck right out front the gate the gate was shut but we said what the hell we didnt drive up here for nothing, so we opened the gate and went in. we started walking up the center of the cemetary and the oak tree started shaking and stuff started falling out of the tree but no one was there also there was no wind at all. so we walked a little bit father in and we started to go right by the trees but we didnt go the whole way back, we started hearing noise's coming from the trees so we started to get tweaaked out. and we walked back over by the oak tree and we were starring out in to the cemetary. and this girl in a white walking towards us, but then she dissapeared. next, a boy in red pants and a white shirt started following us, but we could see right through him. the gate started going back and fourth slamming open and closed. so we started walking out, we got so scared we ran to our truck. we huurried up and ran and got in. and then we went to go start the car, and it wouldnt start, we tried starting it for a goood twenty minutes. then, the car started bouncing up and down like somebody or something was juumping in the back of the car, it was doing that for a goood ten minutes. then the gate started going back and foourth slamming and opening as the car was moving, so our friend nick is getting reall pissed off cause he dont want marks on his car, so he got ouut and went to loook and there was nothing there. he got back in the truck, and the car started shaking again., next thing youu know a girl smaaacks up on the windon she had black greasy hair, and she loooked evill, she tried opening the dooor, but we held on tight and she went away. we tried starting up the car agian and it finally started. and we dipp setted the fuuuck out of there!!!!

me and my two friends will never forget ouur time at hankey church.

i have visited hankey church myself i went there one time with a couple of my friends.Thinking that nothing would happen we parked under the big tree the pastor was supposedly hung. We got out the car and walked through the gates after feeling very uncomfortable we decide to leave when we got back into the car and it sound like some tapping on the windshield. Supposedly on certain nights if you park under the tree it is his feet tapping of your windshield....

Ok so we went to the hankey church tonight, we had a tape recorder and video camera and absolutely NOTHING happened.  The only thing we found was our family buried there.  If stuff did happen when you went there then you are lucky cause nothing happened tonight.  I dont think this place is really haunted.

I live right by here. in fact i walk pass it everyday when my family takes walks.nothing stange ever happen to me. theres only alot of teenagers who hang out threre especially on halloween but something stange happen to my dad when he was in highskool. my dad has lived there his whole life. one night he went over his friends house to hang out. his friends lived 7 minutes away from hankey church road. my dad friends were driving him back home because my dad was to young to drive. as they were going past the graveyard there is a turn before u pass it. there is alot of animals that jump out at this turn there is also a few large trees at the turn on the side were the church was. while my dad and his friends were turning on turn in the car and leaning on one of the trees there was a very tall man in a black long trench coat and a black top hat  looking at them. he was also white. like i mean his skin was just plain white like the color of milk. my dad and his friends were so scared. my family believes it had something to do with the tree stump grave stone which is said to be the most haunted thing there. my dad to this day still doesnt no if it was ghost or an alive person and my dad usually doesnt believe in stuff like that. i do beliebe it is a haunted place so i would be causious if u go there. there has also been stories of the gravestones in the back that belong to some young children that i have heard.

Does anyone know how to get permission to just go for fun, are you allowed or do you have to be an "investigator" for any cemetaries including this one?

Here is the true story of "Hankey Church" and the surrounding area...

There is an old man, unidentified, who lives in the woods. He dresses in a leprechaun outfit. Some say he is homeless, some say he is simply a ghoul. Whatever the case...

If you go there at night, and walk up to the infamous tree stump,  he runs at you with his p*nis hanging out, flopping back and forth while he scampers towards you. While bolting at you, he makes turkey noises.

Rumor has it that he sedates you with some kind of spray which people remember to be a mist. He then takes you to a tree stump shaped grave and sticks his pecker straight up your buckeye. After the deed is done, he leaves a gold coin on the spot. After he returns you to where he first sedated you and you wake up, you see a glow coming from the stump.

Recently a local teenager reported that the crazy leprechaun held him down and sh*t on his face. After sh*tting on the teens face, the leprechaun started doing what the teen described as " c*ck push-ups" on the teens chin.

The teen said that the leprechaun ran off in to the woods, not before stealing the teens shoes however.

Do not go to this place.

I was just at the cemetary and I knew Melvan Ritter. Steve and Andrea who live at Hanky Church farm till the mid 70's or later. They went to Murrysville Franklin School, I went to Plum school in the the late 60's. Does anyone know where some of the locals went. We should all meet and go to the cemetary. This place wasn't haunted back then. There was a guy named Chikie that had a big mule that lived in the house at the church back then. They were German and there was may children that played in the cemetary. Andrea had a couple of horses at Hanky Church farm and would ride the horse everywhere in the area of the church and farm. Not haunted!

I went up there about 1 1/2 ago for the first time, with 5 other people. Me and 2 others walked through the cemetery a bit, but nothing happened. We had 2 cars parked in the lot across from the cemetery and had just gotten back into our cars, when we all heard the strangest squeel come from the treeline (our windows were down). The best I can describe it would be like a toddler whining (it was very late though, about 1 a.m.). So, we were so totally ready to leave after that, but before we did, we heard what sounded like a vehicle driving slowly across gravel, but again, coming from the treeline. We left!! It was very creepy, at least the lot across the street was!

I have been to Hankey Church road many times. I went to plum and I heard about this from my friend. We decided to go up there just to check it out. We went up there and saw a truck parked just after the vacant lot. we pulled up beside them to pass them. I looked over and saw two men laughing hysterically, then they started making weird noises at us while laughing, so we drove off... we came back 5 minutes later and saw them again. We went to leave and they followed us. We took the back way through plum and we were going down a windy road that had no turn offs, just a cliff on one side and a hill of woods on the other. I was driving and I was so scared. Then out of nowhere his headlights disappeared and the truck was nowhere to be found.... Scariest thing ever!

You people that live there that played in the daylight sure you may not of experienced anything. Go at 3 or 4 am and see what happens. Not everyone is open to paranormal activity. It has to do with your body make up. For example, just because some people in this world such as chip coffee, edgar casey, etc are psychic and you are not dont mean they are lieing. This site is for people who expericence things not high school reunions.

Hi, new guy here. I've read about this place @ this site and others. Last night, on my way home from a 3p-11p shift, I stopped by to have a look.At about 12:20am I found it. First thing noted was the white picket fence when approaching the curve. Also saw that the gates were closed, and a sign saying 'No Trepassing from Dusk to Dawn'(sorry guys, Salma Hayek was nowhere to be found. :(  )  I pulled up a little ways and parked at the side by the fence. Got out, keys in one hand and a Streamlight in the other, I had no intention of going inside, just wanted to see the place. Noticed right by my car was a gravestone about 6-7 ft tall carved like a tree stump. ( Is this the one everybody talks about?) Shined my light around. Nice cemetary, but a little spooky in the middle of the night! Put my light on the lot across the road also. Now,maybe it just in my mind, but as I shone my light on one place, I'd get the urge to quickly turn around and shine it on the other! Like I said, it was just an urge, didn't actually see or hear anything 'wierd'. As I've go the day off and some running around to do, I'll just go up there and really look around to get a better idea of what's up there. Maybe try to find that that slaughterhouse people talk about.

I took a picture(up on the top right of the page) and caught a man's face protruding from a tombstone.  It is the second picture, you can't see it from this site basically, but if you copy and paste it to Word you can crop, zoom in and see it.  It is a profile, so the side of a face.  If you zoom in on the left of the picture of the large tombstone with a orangish bulb sticking out you can see it.  Looks like an old man with glasses and a large nose.  Just saying

Hi,

I remember when the church was there and the large white farm house and a gargae on the corner turn. You can still see the foundation of the imprint of the single garage made of concrete block on the corner turn. weeeee it is sure fun at night when the wind and cols spirits whine. Yes I saw many strange things from living in the area. One night I was parking with my girlfriend and someone ran from the trunk,  top and over the hood. I didn't see anything after, but this really happened. I never park in the lot past the road on the left again. The little lot is where it happened. There was an outside toilet on the left near the road Beighly and wild dogs lived there. scary...
