Bowman house was occupied by Mr. Bowman and his wife and two daughters. His oldest daughter died in infancy. His second daughter and wife passed away within months of each other. He built a mausoleum accross the road from the house with life sized statues of his wife and children inside with his statue on the outside as if coming home to them. He died roughly 10 years after building the mausoleum. He believed his family was going to return to him so he wanted the house as it was when they died. His Will even stated that nothing was to be altered in the home after his demise so that he and his family could return. Stories have been that he haunts the house watching to see that no one touches it. Also, there have been stories of his wife and children also being encountered. There were several stories when the house underwent some constrution not that long ago, also I believe, although am not sure, a small bookstore was attempted and failed in the home. There are many stories about this home that I have heard all my life and the house has been both a fascination and a fright since I was a small child.

hi to all-the bookshop didn't fail because of the ghost-it failed for economic reasons-i should know-i was part owner-if the ghosts were there(and having spent years in the place i would say they were, although i never saw them-but i think they liked having the antique books and the friendly tourists around-grayfish2010 on ebay and hauntedmansionrelix@hotmailcom
