There are steps they just have been covered with cement. I have been there many times and a lot of crazy stuff has happened. Including being pushed so hard it left marks when no one was behind me. Having friends see a young girl dressed in old rags sitting on a grave stone, Being followed by three cats. I wouldn't recommend people going because there is the risk of going to jail if you get caught. Which we have almost a few times. I live in Monroe which is like 5 mins away from there. I want to go back and take pictures of the car and the grave stones but all my friends are to scared to go back!

It is a real cemetery. The 13 steps though, as people have written, is nowhere to be found. The path when walking through the woods to the cemetery has "run-off-the-road" cars with trees going through them! It's pretty cool...

My friends and I hung out at the Maltby Cemetery back in the early eighties. I remember a large cement block  located in the center of the cemetery which was approximately ten feet long, five feet wide and four feet from the ground. We found the thirteen steps which lead down to a wooden door with a pad lock on it.  We were told it was the maintenance shed. Odd place for a shed, very steep.  There were about twenty five people buried at Maltby at the time. As many times as we had gone there, it always took us forever to find the correct gravel road to the cemetery. In 2002  I  revisited the cemetery for old times sake. I wanted my adult perception of this very scary place. I found the gravel road  overgrown with brush and Ivy. As I walked up the gravel road I felt sick to my stomach and wanted to turn around. I crept on through the dense forest and came to the same clearing, but with a few very large new homes located right on the cemetery where we used play.  This was a shock!  I wander if the people who live in those homes know the history of Maltby cemetery? If you pass the Doolittle residence on your way to the cemetery, you’ve gone to far or maybe it’s the other way around. Good luck and happy hauntings!

1. What are best directions into the cemetary with how far and hard a hike in.

2. The house next to it. If we were to as adults knock on door and ask permission to enter the easy way do you think they home owner would let us or would that be a waste of time/

I can tell you my story of the cemetary, as a young boy, had heard many stories of the 13 steps of death from my friends mom. she swore that she saw these steps when she was younger. As explained by many other posts here,were generally the same stories i heard over 25 years ago. including satanic sacrifice of a young woman back in the 60s, at these steps. And as the story goes is why this place has been haunted ever since. I can tell you from personal experience, as i have been there many times, there is a {presence} there. I took over an hour and a half of film footage using night vision cameras, stopping and recording over and over.So when we got home to view the film footage there was nothing on the tape except us in the car, on the way there. and yes i was using the camera correctly, that same night,same camcorder, same tape, same battery was recording fine? I dont know if all the stories are true. but i can tell you this place definately has something eerie about it. I dont scare easy, but every time i've been there i felt a presence. I have never felt this much {activity}if you will, than any place i've ever been......
