Location Description:

passed gravity hill it was said that in a barn near gravity hill they raped girls and killed them. Some high school kids decided to go and hang out. It is called gravity hill because on the hill if you put your car in neutral it will roll up hill. But if you put dirt of powder of some sort you can see fingerprints. Some kids were there and they were in a truck and there were three people the one in the middle turned to look at the passenger, he was in the middle, it looked like he wanted to cry. He leaned forward and saw the face of a girl inches away from his face. They said that all you can see is the outline of her eyes with long black hair over her face. They said that it looked like she had come out of the canal cause her hair looked wet but it couldn’t be. There was no water in the canal. Another time a high school student was driving by the canal alone one night in November. He was terrified to see a young woman with long black hair jump into the canal off of a little bridge over the canal. Some other kids were at the hill. They turned their car off. The car begs to move. They looked back and a young woman was trying to push the car, as if she wanted to them to leave.

I my selfe have played in that same barn when i was a boy, i never saw any gosts. When i heard this gost story i was a freshmen in high school, by my sophomore i had ben there several times at both day and night and saw nuthing. Yes if you put your car in nutural it will roll up the hill i have no idea how but it dose. So if you take a trip to Whitstrand`s gravity hill I promise you that "if" there there are gosts they were not raped and killed in the grain barn. I also promise you this your car will roll to the top if you put it in nutral and park at the bottem. -Zack

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Alright, i just went to Gravity Hill today ive never been there untill about 2 hours ago. there is a barn there but its not red its like grey, well me and my two friends (we are girls) we went passed the start line turned around and we saw a girl black hair it was wet the driver her name is Emily she was freaking out the girl in the middle Brittnee she ducked down and Me Khrysta just looked at her and concentrated on her my heart was punding yes, she started walking towardds Emilys truck and I dont know why but i kept staring and Emily was yelling at me to put my window up so i did, Mean while brittnee was on the phone with her boyfriend telling him what was happening and the girl was telling us we need to leave, before we were even to the start line, she was yelling at us and all i could think was how what when? i was freaked out but kept my cool, so we drove to the start line and put the truck in neutral, and i looked back and she was pushing us no joke. its no "opptical allusion" and im not making this up. there were finger prints on her truck i only notcied them and didnt say anything, but when we shifted into drive this white car pulled out of the drive way and was following us we were going about 90 i would say and he was behind us we took detours and everything he chased us out of there we were on Evans road and i looked behind us and i saw the car turn on to our road and i started paniking, maybe he is the one that raped and killed her just a thought considering we were all girls we didnt care if we got pulled over and all three of us got a ticket. but we booked it. well thats my experince at Gravity hill scary yes unforgetable hell yes.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	i just got back from gravity hill me and a couple of my classmates went.... let just say we were not impressed.... We went to the "start line" and were facing uphill. Put the truck in neutral and rolled naturally the way we all thought, backwards. We then drove up the road to turn around, this time when we got back to the line we were facing downhill. Naturally what happens when you put the truck in neutral facing downhill you roll down. Guess what happened... we rolled down! Gravity Hill does work, and the name is correct. Gravity pulls down, not "pushing up" Just our 2 cents.

It's a hill between Grandview and Prosser. Umm...well we didn't see any ghosts at all. I saw a bat, though. But, the car totally does go up the hill if you put it in neutral. ^__^ Take my word and go! It's fun...but don't expect any ghosts.

AnonymousVisiter	Went there today with some of the family that own the the property. We did go up hill or so it seems. We got to check out everything and sorry to say I never seen any ghost. They said there has never been any kids killed or raped in the grain elevator. There is another one down the road that a little girl died in though. They took us to another old house that is supposed to be haunted. I took a lot of pictures and am hoping to see something in them, but never seen anything in person. It was a very fun day.

First of all i have never had any type of fingerprints on any of the cars ive taken up there ever ive never seen any gohsts or anything like that the barn is creepy and has helped me to scare the people i take out there. you do go up the hill when your car is in neutral it works wether your facing up the hill or down the fastest ive ever gone up the hill was 55mph in a heavy car .... . AnonymousVisiter ** US	I went to gravity hill with my family and I totally agree that you start out going downward. But then when you get to the hill you just keep going. Our car was really heavy and we never actually crested the hill. We stopped on top of the hill. facing up. my fiance got out and pushed the car back and I'm not a scientist but when you are on a hill and your car is in neutral... Well I'm pretty sure you're supposed to roll back. We didn't. It felt like when you back into a tree. We stopped so hard that I lunged forward. We went up the hill twice and the second time I just couldn't stop looking at the barn and I started crying... It was one of the strangest experiences of my life. I wasn't sobbing or anything but tears started roling down my face. I felt scared. I couldn't help myself. I know it sounds crazy but that's what happenned. I just want everyone to realize that I am not saying there is ghosts, but there is something unnatural going on there.. I don't care if it starts out downhill, but we stopped on a hill. I also have a question for the person who said they know the people who built the barn.. Ummm, that thing is freakin ancient.. or at least it looks that way. Do you know the actual people who built it? or their ancestors? I felt something and it scared the hell out of me.. you should go for a thrill.. When you start going out on crosby it takes a while to get there. you'lll know your there when you see a black barn and pee yourself.. its creepy.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	There's nothing scary about Gravity Hill. I went last night, drunk. There was 8 of us in a truck. 4 in front and four of us in the back of the truck. I was one of them. I climbed all the way up to the top in pitch black. Didn't hear anything nor did I hear anything. The only strange thing that happened was that when we were leaving one of my friends hat flew off so we turned around and started going towards the barn again. We got to the hat and out of no where some car head lights appear. We sped off and the car started following us, but just as they appeared they disappeared. I wish i could have been proved wrong on the whole story supposedly behind Gravity Hill. I don't believe it. I've heard several versions. Something about a school bus. Females getting raped. The dad of a family going crazy killing everyone. No events supported any of those stories. Maybe in a different occasion I'll be proved wrong. Jasmin, 20

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I have lived in the Tri-Cities almost 50 years (grew up here) so I was somewhat suprised I had never heard of "Gravity Hill". It sounds like an interesting place. The "phenomena" reminds me of a family vacation when I was 10 years old. We were somewhere in Montana and had pulled over to look at the view and even though the car looked as if it was parked facing up-hill, when my mom released the brake, we started rolling UP the hill. It was so strange; I couldn't figure it out. Still don't have the answer (don't really want it.) The experience was impressive enough that I can still see it (and my family) clearly in my mind. Think I'll see about making a few new memories. Thanks!

AnonymousVisiter * US	I grew up in the area and we would all go out there after school and stuff like that. I will say that you do NOT want to get out of the car and try to check out the barn because there are people that actually live on the property and I'm pretty sure they get nervous with all the teens coming around. I know people have been yelled to get off the property because it is trespassing to be in the barn. Now on a "supernatural" note, it always feels freaky there. I personally have never found finger prints after being on the hill. I have friends who have seen it before though. My friend's car always makes it over the hill and coasts but my car always stops right at the exact top and just stays. Doesn't move either way until I start it up again. I'll let people make of that what they will. There's a lot of ghost stories in the valley. Old Mabton High School has a lot of stories tied to it. The Sunnyside High School auditorium was supposedly haunted. Everyone would tell stories of a girl falling to her death from the catwalks. Personally being the the drama program there we would see and hear things we didn't always understand but I won't make any claims to hauntings. The YVCC auditorium and black box is also rumored to be haunted. So if you're looking to check out "haunted" locations, there's a few to choose from. By the way, I would like to add to people who come onto this page and post negative comments, if you don't like it/don't believe in it, then why are you on the page?

Being a teen that just got her license, I would take my little sister with me and a friend or two and we'd just cruise the backroads and listen to music. I liked it because it was always calm and quiet out there, not much traffic. I've been on Cosby road many times, also i've been on Gravity Hill many times. I remember when I first moved there kids in school tried to freak me out about it. Thing is, I been there. Nothing creepy happened. Of course the barn looked a lil creepy..but i mean come on...it's an old barn...and that fits like..every horror movie you can think of. So naturally your gonna be a lil spooked by it. But, no I never seen any handprints on it either. However, I didn't do the putting car in neutral thing? Didn't get told that part in the story. I was told a totally different story. So, I don't know. All I know is, even if there are or arent any ghosts..if your lookin for a nice relaxing cruise...Backroads are nice, and the townsfolk are very kind :) I really loved it there!
