Location Description:

Has since be torn down Next to the Stonewall Jackson site. It is an abandoned catholic school. Many legends and ghost sites there. Has flashing lights and people walking the halls. Legend has it a young boy stole a gold cross from the priest then the boy died soon after. The cross is supposed to still be there. Also many nuns died there and are buried beneath the school in stonedup walls. Anyone who goes there, DO NOT GO ALONE at night. It is the scariest site you will ever visit.

DeSales Heights was located at 1600 Murdoch Avenue and was torn down in July 2002. The nuns were never buried beneath the school, but in a mausoleum beside the school. When the school closed in 1991, the nuns were transported to a local cemetery. The chaplain`s house was recently torn down in the summer of 2006.

DeSales Heights is no longer there. It was torn down a couple of years ago and a new medical building was built there. I work for one of the new residents and I have heard nothing new.

My mother attended DeSales Heights and graduated high school there in about 1956. I attended one of her reunions and found the building to be a wonderful old place. She had many fond memories and told a few "haunting" stories about living there as a teenager. Progress is a killer.
