The "haunted" hotel was converted into an apartment complex about maybe 7 years or so ago.  I have lived in this apartment complex for a couple of years now, and NOTHING has happened.  People are always asking me if I ever see or hear anything odd, but I have never.  There is nothing scarey looking in this place, every thing is re-modeled and looks very nice.   There are NO  secret passages between floors, or secret places in the basement.  I have no idea what some people are talking about.  There are no blood statins on the 8th floor because every thing has been re-modeled. The elevator sometimes doesnt work at night because it is re calibrating its self, and it only goes out for about 10 mintues.   I think people want to have some fun so they scare themselves into believing they hear or see something.  The building that looks abandoned is the old bank that was next door to the hotel, it has nothing to do with the new apartment complex. 

The Evergreen Inn was converted into apartments in the late 80's or earlier ( I lived in them in 1989 when I moved out on my own). It was cheap, and little parking in back, and of course a dump. All of the units were 2 to 5 hotel rooms made into apartments. When I lived there, the second floor was an open area with a few old couches and tables. I've been there a few times and alway felt like I was being watched/followed. From the front you could see the bank parking lot and side of a bar on York st. At the time (I haven't been there in several years) there was a bar (not in use, but you could walk thru it) on second, with a large mirror. I looked in the mirror as I walked by and saw three two and a half story wood sided houses, one lite redish, one white and one lite creamy yellow. I remember seeing them in the mirror, and thinking to myself "I don't remember there being houses across the street." Of course there wasn't.

 I also remember the two elevators. The old one, I hated looking in to it's window. The new one from time to time would do weird things, nothing bad, execpt one night it ran all night long. Ever 10 - 15 minutes it would go up, floor by floor with noone on board. This lasted from midnight-ish until 4:00am -ish. The old elevator was kept on the basement floor, turned off, except when the new one was broke down. I remember once it was on the 7th floor (where I lived), but it was not running. I ran into the manager and asked about it, she gave me this weird look and said it was in the basement, and had to bring it down herself. That and the "fire/smokey" smell for the end of 5th and 6th floors from time to time.

 Haunted, I don't know. Creepy, yes.
