Location Description:

This was once called the the Roughest, Bawdiest, and most Wicked night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast.

For nine long years she never closed doors and is listed as one of the top 10 most haunted spots in the US.

The Birdcage is home to over 26 ghosts. Although some have reported the voices of people and the visions of cowboys, the most prominent is a stage manager who walks back and forth acrossed the stage complete with visior and clipboard. He is not fond of men and men have reported the feeling of being shoved in the chest. This ghost was also known to smoke Cigars.

The Birdcage was also the scene for a very haneous crime involving two women over a man named Billy Milgrew. Gold Dollar was a barmaid at the Oriental Saloon and had heard of a Mexican gal named Margarita who was messing with her man. Gold Dollar came out of nowhere and violently cut out Margarita`s heart, disappearing into the darkness. MArgarita is buried in Boothill.

Prior to the opening of the Birdcage, the grounds were a marshall station and along Sixth Street were opium dens.

The location is known as a vortex and possible portal for all of the supernatural activity that goes on in town.

A Great place to visit, I believe it is so haunted because it holds a lot of ethereal energy.

bonds25 Online Now!	That sounds like a pretty rough spot. looks like a pretty rough spot, too. A possible vortex or portal? I`ve heard of this before, the most prominent example is in egypt, not far from the pyramids. Anyways, this spot sounds terrifying.

AnonymousVisiter A US	I used to live in the Tombstone area and have been in the Birdcage numerous times. You get a weird feeling in there. Also, I've gone into the basement near the poker table and wine/booze cellar and have heard whispering, while I was the only one in the room at the time. You also get those feelings of "being watched".

I got so freaked out while watching this episode that i had to turn on the lights to continue watching it. lol. When i go to Arizona with my ghost-hunting team next year we're SO gonna go there first! :)

2LT Misleh Last Seen: 5/29/2009 4:28:14 PM	i found a $20 gold coin from 1883 on a poker table in that building. at first i thought it was fake but it seemed too heavy, definitely not plastic, maybe it was fool's gold left by some punk. when i got back home in california, i took it to a coin collector to verify it. turns out it was real. i now have a coin worth more than $2 million.

AnonymousVisiter	Wow, what a cool story! We visited Tombstone in May & went on the evening ghost tour. We brought a digital recorder and picked up an evp of about 10 seconds of old time music softly playing. Saw lots of shadows in the cribs above the gambling tables. At one point we all sat around a table behind stage calling out to the spirits. The guide put a trigger object on the table - a small metal tin filled with pebbles the ghosts had thrown at her. We asked for the ghosts to give us a sign of their presence. The tin snapped shut. We had a lot of experiences there, but nothing really negative.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I was here for Thanksgiving. Had many orbs in pictures from inside the theatre and many more on the streets. Smelled smoke at the bar inside the theatre. Captures a female face in a mirror in one of the hooker rooms. Saw a blue orb during the lights out session of the ghost tour. Heard a bang and other unexplained noises from the gambling area. It was awesome. I will be going back for sure. Went to boothill too. There were many orbs and the gate moved when there was not wind blowing at all.

AnonymousVisiter	I've been in the Bird Cage and it's an amazing place. Everything is so untouched and in a near original state, which probably contributes greatly to the paranormal activity there, which my husband and I both experienced during our visit. But I have to say to the person who took the coin from the poker table - way to steal from history. You should have left it there where it belongs. It wasn't yours to take. If everyone who visited this amazing building took something home with them, would there be anything left??

pollyy Last Seen: 11/27/2010 3:51:30 PM	OMG I visited last year with my family. My mom took a lot of photos inside the Bird Cage theater and she caught a female face in a mirror. She didn't even notice it until we went back to the hotel room so we went back to check it out on our last day there and we checked the mirror if it had anything in the back of it and it didn't. That was scary, I'm still freaked out by that. She still has the photos too.

AnonymousVisiter - -	Me and my oldest son were walking down the street in front of the Bird Cage on our way to the bathrooms. Out of the corner of my right eye I could see a movement from with in the Bird Cage shop entrance. I looked real quick to the right at the stair case on the the right, about half way up. I saw a white lady, with a big fluffy dress standing on the stair case. I looked away, but then looked back in less then a second. She was gone. After taking my son to the bathroom, we stopped back at the Bird Cage. I looked at the stair case and knew that no one could be in the middle of the stairs and be at the top or bottom in a split second. I told my wife what I saw and she said it was probably a ghost flirting with me.

AnonymousVisiter - -	The Bird Cage Theatre was a combination theater, saloon, gambling parlor and brothel that operated from 1881 to 1889 in Tombstone, Arizona during the height of the silver boom. It has been a tourist attraction ever since 1934, and is open to the general public year-round, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
