tnghost	I have been there 2 times.They are going to be tearing it down real soon.So they are allowing people to go thru it before it is torn down.

tnghost	They are tearing the building down to put up a new hospital.And they are allowing people to go in before they tear it down.I would love to go back before they do.We have been there 2 times.

At one time, the law was that only 2 people had to sign a statment that a person was ``crazy`` and that person could be locked up and never get out. There are many graves there that only have a number for a marker.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	There is a Mental hospital right next to the UA campus that is named Bryce, it is still in use. It gets mixed up with what is called Old Bryce which is actually in North Port. The two were once sister hospitals, the one in North Port used for black patients during segregation. Old Bryce is not in use and said to be haunted

AnonymousVisiter ** US	The OLD Bryce Hospital is said to have things going on too.My Mom's friends took pictures of each room and inside each one of the rooms there were "orbs".Now,most people by only hearing this story could claim something was on the lenses,or it was dust.I agree about the dust,BUT HOWEVER,there was one room with no orbs or anything.I asked my mom to see if she could let me look at those pictures,but she hasn't gotten them yet.So if you get the chance,take a look at the OLD bryce hospital.Make sure to take pictures also if you can.

AnonymousVisiter ALABAMA US	march 5 2001 me and my friends went there and on the main floor there is a wooden stage and we were playing around saying show yourself you coward and after all the laughing calmed down about 1 min later it did cought us off gaurd bad a black figure started to walk tward us we were 15 feet from it. it walked to us half way looked to the right and vanished so i dont recommend taunting because it could happen we ran like the wind blows and none of us have ever been back.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	You pass Northport Wal-Mart, and before you get to 84 lumber on your left, you turn on 5th Street which is also on the left. I've been in every building 2 times and the only place I have yet to find is the basement. Which I am sure is there, though it may be completely sealed off now do to flooding and water damage. AnonymousVisiter ** US	The last time I went was back in 2007, and it was free and clear to roam around back then. From what ive gathered, it still is available to go through at leisure, just make sure you park intelligently. The main entrance is across a set of railroad tracks through a large brick entry way. You walk down a crumbled asphalt road for perhaps 200 yards lined by large oak trees until the main building looms in front of you. Its a three story plantation style building, with easy access to all parts of it. The first floor is mostly offices and storage, with a few medical styled rooms here and there. The structure is intact for the most part, since all the staircases are made of metal and the building itself is a metal/concrete mix. The second/top floor was for the residents and has large open rooms with columns in it, with openings onto the roof. There is a great deal of debris scattered throughout the complex, furniture, old medical records, trash, you name it. The bottom floor looks to be a combination of dining facilities and examination or sanitary rooms. Behind the main building, hidden down a hill is a smaller brick building that contains the old power plant for the facility, with not much of interest to note except large equipment. Its rather difficult to find in the dark. Off to the left of the main building down a side road is a simple guard shack sort of deal, with a whole bunch of old medical records strewn through it, not much of interest there either. The side road loops around, and connects back to the main road, with a much newer building built directly to the left of the main road that was a nursing home until the early 80's i believe. Somehow just as creepy as the main building itself and worth a walk-through. We took lots of pictures there Halloween of 2006, and several contained orbs in the main building, but not many and none anywhere else on the grounds.

AnonymousVisiter * US	I live in Tuscaloosa, and have been to Old Bryce many times, a few years ago the building caught fire and burned the roof off and much of the top floor, The Northport police and County Sheriff's are VERY bad about watching and catching people trying to go look through the place. It is creepy to go through at night just because it is a decaying old building, I will say I never really felt that it was haunted while I was there, However there is a group of people that like to hide out around the place in Hooded black robes that go all the way to the ground that like to come out and stand around where you can't see their faces trying to scare the crap out of you, which I will say they accomplished, I don't know if they are devil worshipers or what but definitely keep an eye out for them!
