Location Description:

Coyotes are native to this area. So every fallspring in the houses around, you hear coyotes yelping in the late night hours, after about 5 minutes of this, you hear a trumpet. Anywhere along RT.72 (Chamberlain Hwy) you hear them.. Legend has it, that at Ragged Mountain off Rt.72 in the late 1800`s a young trumpet boy had gotten lost around his new home, and he was lost with his trumpet. And coyote’s have gotten to him, So this is his call for help, Just to late.

I used to live and ride my atc on ragged mountain. I never heard the trumpet, I wish I did though. I am actually going to do some ghost hunting at the cemetary on southington road.

I live near there, i hike Ragged mountain and the reservoir area frequently. lots of coyotes at night, but no trumpets. you can, however, hear a train horn from down in meriden/berlin from time to time. perhaps some idiot mistook it for a stupid legend that some other idiot made up..... like the cemetary on southington rd.
