The mansion itself holds something evil. Every time I visit I just feel like something really bad is there. outside there are spirits all around, but I feel no threat.

We live in the neighborhood across Indian River Dr. from there. During the Hurricanes we went through the entire area several different nights. It does have a creepy feeling to it, I just felt it was the mystery behind the place. In the total of about 36 hours we spent in there, none of us saw anything, just had a little bit of the creepy, hair on the neck standing up feeling. The maintenance building is close to the sailing center, you can climb up to the third floor and through a hole in the roof, from the peak of that roof you get a great view of Jensen and the River. It is extremely dangerous up there, please don't be as stupid as we were and climb on that roof. A little history,- it was originally a convent, then FIT (Florida Institute of Technology) used it as a campus and the dean lived in the castle. The castle is actually built on top of an Ais Indian burial mound.

I went to college there in the early 80's and the basement was were the ratskeller (campus bar) was. the building did have a creepy, creeky type feeling. I was a bartender at the "rat" for awhile and when the place was empty is was pretty errie.

Me n my friends go to the mansion all the time and get drunk on the balcony closest to the indian river. On several occasions we have explored the entire campus with no flashlights if you go there n get scared ur a pussy grow some nuts. My friend said that when we left him alone near the top of the stairs a small girl came to him. However hes a dumbass and was so trashed we had to carry him to the car. On another time we went that same kid fell asleep in the garage and we left him in the pitch black for about five hours when we got back HE WAS FINE AND STILL SLEEPING.

If you want in to the Leach mansion...contact me. Stacy.Stewart@live.com. I have been in recently. The funny thing is the recent video I took is now blank after leaving the property. I could view it on the property. But when I got to the car...blank! This happened 3 times. I'd love to give you a tour. Stacy Leach

ive been there before, as i live nearby. everyone talks about it as if its a haunted place. it does give me the chills but thats only because of the stories. there were no deaths no wrong deeds, and no hazardeous situations that occured here except for college mishaps and such. it is just an old college with a big reputation. if you do believe in this and want to be creeped out, go in the basement, for it is the scariest part. be careful of huge pieces of poop lying around though. and there is broken glass everywhere. oh and the cops stake it out almost every night, up near the driveway on the hill, so be careful

The best way in is through the woods preceding the property heading South on Indian River Drive. The double doors they're talking about lead to the celler located on the water side of the mansion, creepy but a better place to chill and have some beers. Besides, nothing better to do in that town anyway. Bring flashlights, keep the noise down, and make sure you run aster than Martin Counties finest. -cheers

I was there this morning, it's under construction and being re-built by the city to hold weddings and such. I was meeting with the contractor, he gave me the low-down. I didn't feel anything weird about it at all, but then again, it was at 8:30 this morning.

Anyone interested there are high-resolution full-page spherical panoramas of most of the interior, including the basement, and 5 pans of the exterior located here: http://i-ota.net On the menu on the left of the page go to: Historic Building Renovations...Mt. Elizabeth Leach Mansion...Pre-Renovation... and then pick a floor, highlight a thumbnail and click As you'll see, after FIT left the kids got in there and smashed all of the glass blocks that divide many of the rooms, spray painted graffiti on the walls and generally tore the place up. Frances & Jeanne in 2004 finished the off the last of the stately presence the place had. On a good note, the historical commission in Martin County is determined to restore it to its original grand design with a few added amenities (modern toilets and plumbing, modern electrical system, an elevator, central heat and air and other modern conveniences) Enjoy the pans! It is a very beautiful place in spite of the damage the kids and hurricanes did to it.

I went to school there in the early 80's,and I can tell you that there are spookies there.Once,I had to break in late at night to get a check from my mailbox, and I saw a figure walk past.Very creepy. It was the student center, post office, snack bar,as well as administration offices. The Ratt was the college bar and it was in the basement. The buiding itself was built on a indian midden(refuge, trash mound).

Me and my friends went there last night. We had to walk through a trail behind the park to get up the hill to the back part. It's defidentaly creepy. All my friends were quiet, and made sure not to disturb anything, or anyone. We took a picture of the back part of the house, and there seems to be some sort of...shadow by a window. It freaked us out, and we booked it out of there.

i been to the mansion and the school and the barn its really creepy .The first time i have ever went to the mansion was a year ago and me and my friends where walking up the hill and there was voltures on the roof like about 20 of them and we went around back and the gate was open so we went in as soon as we went in we heard old focks music and people dancing on the second floor ,it was funny because we thought someone was playing a trick on us so we went up there and it stopped and we were looking around and we went on the balcony  awsome site though then we went back down stairs we went tords the basement and this horrible smell was down there it smelled like dead people. On the first step down there was this red line of sand thy say it keeps the ghost from passing so. We started to walk down and all of a sudden we herd this loud noise and it started to get very cold we were sooo scard we ran out screaming ,come on i was 13 at the time. Then we went in the school that smelled really bad too and we saw all the blue lockers and we went in the music room we saw the stage and a old music thing we went on the stage and we looked on the celling and there was ice on  it .It was really werid because it was like 95 degress that day. but it was cool.we saw were the cars drive in to pick up there kids and were the desk were it was really interesting. funny one of my friends went with a group of kids at 1;00am and they went in the school and they went in to the aditorium and they sat in a corner in the room and turned off there flashlights and were very still and very quiet and they said there could here a little boy playing the piano very very spooky and all of them freaked and never went back in there ever again,...........

hmmm. ive been to F.I.T leach mansion many times. i used to hear my sister talking about it alot with her friends, so i finally made her take me along. i'd say, about a year and a half ago was when i had my first "paranormal" experience. i had my camera with me and i took some shots of the front of the mansion. then as soon as we got inside, my camera wouldnt work. i thought it was odd, but i wasnt trying to make a big deal out of it, so i let it go. we came accross a dark hallway, and it was impossible to see down it 'cause it was already dark outside, so i figured, maybe if i got my camera to work.. i could put the flash on and take a picture so it could light up the hallway for a second.. well, my camera finally worked, and so did the flash. to my suprise, it was just a boring hallway.. 'til i got home.. i uploaded the pictures onto my computer.. and when i zoomed in to the picture of the hallway.. right there.. in plain sight.. a "spirit"/ "apparition"/"ghost"-what ever you would like to call it, cause to this day, i still have no word to describe it. u can see a face, and some sort of a jacket with a hood on it.. the hood was around the face.. u can clearly see eyes and a mouth. i still have the picture if anyone would like to see it. btw, i forgot to mention, when leaving the mansion, my sister screamed at me and thought something happend. i had a handprint impression on my chest and scratch marks on my leg. but i didnt touch myself, and no one else touched me the entire time i was in the mansion. freaky huh ? it's pretty ironic though that my mother is a new construction cleaner (cleans new buildings and houses before theyre in use) and her company's new project is to clean the remodeld F.I.T Leach mansion.

the mansion may be haunted, but if you are caught in there you will go to MARTIN COUNTY JAIL! ON A FELONY CHARGE! so enter at your own risk.

There is security on site and  sheriffs office patrols  all hours.

     spread the word  THE COPS

Its not haunted been there plenty of times and they are turning into a wedding hall. I got permission to go inside during the day and all we "found" was a bra in the basement. its creepy at night because its dark and there are secret stairs to the basement then more secret stairs to the garage. the school and the guest house down the way is run down and was demolished. Dont go because its pointless. and no one DIED in the house. Im not sure about the school I heard there was students killed in there but other than that its nothing.

I went to that school from 1974 to 1978. I graduated to environmental engineer, and in all of those years I never heard about ghosts or spirits. The only spirits I remembered were the wine and beer we drank at the "rats keller" bar.It was a pretty boring college, expensive too. anyway, I finish my degree at the Melbourne campus, now that's a college; a real good school. All the rest is bull

Early 80's student myself. Never saw any ghosts or spirits or whatever. Male to female ratio was about 100:1 and that really sucked! It is a terrible shame to see it as I did on a visit around 2001, everything over grown and all but gone to waste.

me and my friends used to party on the balconys usually the one facing the river but sometimes the other one....or there might have been two other ones it was over a year ago when i lived in jensen...the mansion is not haunted we went through the whole thing with no flash lights we went through the tunnel the basement and there was actually a homeless guy killed in the garage...the school on the other hand is deff haunted we saw a younger girl about like 10-13 years old glowing sitting in a chair in the cafitera and when we went tward her she ran into the kitchen and then so did we but when we got to the door way she was gone and we could hear her laughing....the mansion its self if deff not haunted my friends and i all scattered throughout the place with no lights other then our cell phones and all we were doin was scarin eachother for the hell of it we went there alllll the time for a place to party the best way to get in is parkin in the old folks home and goin to the circle (it has cameras but if you stay to the left of the circle the cameras dont see you and stay behind the posts and just climb through the fence we fucked it up you can walk right through it) we used to go there atleast 2 times a week never ran into any one just look out for security gaurds but once you get past the first gate your golden as long as your not stupid and use flash lights cause that just gives you away

I was looking for info about what has happened to this building. I had 2 sisters that went into the convent for the Sisters of St. Joseph and from 1955 to when it was sold I spent many, many days there. The building is not full of evil or bad things that go bump in the night! I can assure anyone that the only weird things that happened there went on in the pool area "down the hill" and that was the gators that would come up into the pool! I think because of it's size and the way it sits on the hill it certainly makes for some creative thoughts. In all my times there I never had any bad or scary events. If anything, I would say it is sacred ground. Once because of the indian mound and twice because it was a place of prayer and devotion for the nuns that lived in the mansion. I do believe that the mansion has a real feel to it, but it is the same feeling I get when going to any old place including St. Augustine. There may be a certain atmosphere to the grounds but I have not ever felt afraid to be on the grounds. I spent most all my weekends there from the age of 3 years old and frankly loved the place. I was more afraid of the gators in the swampy ponds around the bottom of "the hill" and the bee's in the beehive's kept behind the mansion. I spent lovely summer days on the pier that led to the boathouse for years until a bad storm damaged the pier and finally the pier was never repaired and the boathouse just rotted into a shadow of what it was. The place was awesome then and will remain awesome to anyone that has the privledge to feast their eyes upon the mansion. E.P. Preuss

I went to school there with the sister's of Saint Josephs.  Wonderful memories down below the hill was the novitiate convent and the church where I would go to Mass every morning prior to going to class.  I wish I could go back there.

Just went there last night and even though it's redone it's still haunted. A figure on the roof chased us to our car we even got it on camera. Be prepared in you decide to go. Nothing but evil is there
