One day a little boy was walking up on Waterdog, alone, unprotected. He never returned home. People say the ghost of Waterdog killed him, others say the ghost is bogus. The story posted in the newspapers is a 12 year old boy was killed by a man that was convicted of the act and his body was dumped here. When they go to waterdog to prove it...they don`t return either. Now people say they here screams & gun shots.

I just want to say that the ghost of Waterdog is real. I fished the lake often as a child in the sixtys. In 1964, when I was twelve, I was fishing alone in a pool below the earthen dam, when something I couldn't see, came over me. I had the feeling somebody was more than just watching me, but trying to get at me. I had to retreat from this spot after several attempts to continue my fishing. It was so creepy, I finally left, and went home. On another occasion in 1972, I came to Waterdog Lake with a girl friend on my motercycle, at night. We were on the dam, just checking out the landscape, when suddenly from the west side of the lake, a creature of unknown orign,came running towards us, making a hoofen sound as if it were two legged. It made a scarry snorting sound as it got closer. I intuitively felt it was something sinister. The girl I was with was freaked out, and told me to please leave now, or that thing will get us. I started the motercycle and I made a quick get away. I have not been back to Waterdog Lake after this incident.
