Location Description:

It is a once abandon, now set hospital there is green light that is always on. the reason they shut down the hospital was because the doctors would kill their patients and there is a very strong oder that comes from the 3rd floor.

Linda Vista Hospital is a former hospital in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of East Los Angeles, California, USA. Originally the Santa Fe Railroad Hospital, the hospital was constructed for railroad employees in 1938. It is rumored that Howard Hughes would visit the hospital during his time in Los Angeles, occuping the entire top floor of the hospital by himself during his stays.[citation needed]

The hospital ceased operation as a medical facility in 1990. Since that time, it has been used primarily as a filming location. Notable movies shot on location at Linda Vista include Outbreak, End of Days, Pearl Harbor, and the pilot for ER.

Currently, the hospital it is being redeveloped for use as mid-income condominiums.

The hospital was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2006. It is located at 610 S. St. Louis Street, Los Angeles, California

Now they are trying to get rid of the haunted image so that they can rent the place out more often. It looks like their planso to make condos was a no go.

AnonymousVisiter L US	I've been there and it is scary... it smells real bad... and in the cages that are in the basement have blood stains...creepy ha??? Me and my friends went in through the back door of the main building... it's sometimes unlocked.. if you try to go in be careful cuz some of the doors get locked by themselves...make sure to go in with someone else or to ask the mute guy that lives there to guide you though it because it's really tricky...

Heres what happened: K so its my 13 b-day and me and my bff were at my grandparents house well when they went out me and her stayed at the house and waited till it got dark then we snuck over there cause she wanted me to have a special ift cause i like the night fright well the back was unlocked so we went in that way (no dip) well anyways we were wandering around and reading gerffitie orhow ever you spell it and out of nowhere we seen somthin move so wequickly turned and found a. . .a. .Hobo (lolz) well he got scared and ran out but we continued to look and somehow ended up at the cages and OMG there was BLOOD awsome =) well anyway we continued to look around a bit and found our way to th morg and my friend wantd to scare me so she got in one of the body freezer things and closed it well she went tojump out and she got stuck so i had to get her out well then we decided to hed up so we were walking around up farther and farther when we seen somthin move again (oh boy hobos back right? wrong!) It was a guy walking around in the actuall hospitale???? that creeped me out a bit but my friend insited asking him directions to the next floor the one we wanted t go to the most and explore the 3rd floore well we walked over to him and asked but he didnt respond all he did was lead us to this door and staircase we tried to thank him but he didnt say anything (between you and me he was alittle creepy and it takes alot to creep me out and boy he had shivers going up and down me like an earthquack (sorry sucky speller) anyways we wentup the staires and as promised a fowel odor filled the air it took awhile to get used to it but we did and continued it surprised us how the rooms were painted but so there we were in the amazing 3rd floore waiting for somthing to happen soon we got bored and walkedaround some more till we found an old office where my friend took her back pack of and pulled put a oujia bored and so we played around withit for a bit gettin freacked by a real answer when we werent even really being seriouse"are you there" Y-E-S it got a little creepy after that we started to hear sounds like loud thuds and other things so we began to leave running out as fast as we could down the stairs and out of there but in all the confusion we had forgotten the ouija bored It was awsome i'd think th things that intriged me most though were they incinerated baby dolls in some sort of thing that they kept babies in when they were born and a strane map on the wall that pointed to the exists and t had marked on it "you are here" "We are here" and "They are here" and it pointed to the postionwe were at then two postions on oppisit sides of th hospitale who are (We) and (They) exactly idk but it was the best night of my life P.S. AnonymousVisiter ** -	This is so crazy all the creepy scary stories that surround this Hospital. Well My dad worked there for over 25 yrs as the maintenance supervisor and I use to go there all the time when I was little. Mostly hung around the kitchen and helped cooked for the patients. It was a very beautiful building back then I loved roaming the hallways and playing up and down the elevators. I always felt something creepy even back then. Even when it closed down my dad loved to take a drive and check out the building. Havent been there in years... but maybe going back soon to check out any new "ghost" that are around!! Mostly tho.. it has a lot of sentimental and nostalgic feeling for me. As I spent every summer there with my dad and all his staff friends. Its cool to know people still care about the place!! I hope I can get in!!

AnonymousVisiter	I've been there twice. The first time I went, a friend and I wanted to check it out during the day to see how to get in. We were approached by a man that kept yelling at us in Spanish (even after we told him 'No Habla Español') and wouldn't leave us alone. We walked around the entire building and couldn't see a way to get it. I went there last night with two friends. One of them was really scared, so we stayed inside my car. In the upper right room, there was, what appeared to be, a figure of a man standing there, looking outside. (I could've swore I saw his head move, but that was probably just my imagination.) We saw the room with the light that's always on. It kept flickering and, to me, it would get dim, then brighter and so on. I moved my car closer to the right side of the building, and the light in the upper right room seemed to be off. I thought it was a reflection, but when I reversed my car, the light didn't go back on. I read more about Linda Vista earlier, and there were a few reports of a doctor standing in the upper right corner room. I'm not sure if what I saw was a doctor (because the figure seemed to be wearing a baseball cap), but I know I saw something there. It's definitely a creepy building. I don't think there's going to be reconstruction OF the building, but the surrounding buildings do seem to be undergoing some sort of reconstruction. If anyone knows how or figures out how to get inside, PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW! :)

We were locked inside with permission for over 6 hours, and not one sound was heard, nothing was seen, and nothing was felt. All in all, I think the place looks scarier than it really is. This was my third chance to investigate this building, and I believe there is nothing paranormal there...at least nothing happened the three times I was there.

AnonymousVisiter	My dad was a Santa Fe employee that was hospitalized in the early 63's in this hospital. My mother and I visited often. We stayed in a family area that I have learned was later used for mental patients. I remember it being a beautiful hospital and my dad received wonderful care and lived a long and happy life after being there for over a month. I never got creepy feelings or anything like that. The staff was always wonderful to my mom and me. The food was good. I was surprised to find out it went down hill and that it is now in the condition its in. Its sad that such a beautiful building has come to this end.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I just drove out to Linda Vista this morning. There was a security guard who stoped us right away to tell us we could not go in. There was a film crew shooting there this morning. I thought there was some sort of access into the building and by what so many people have written, I was under the impression it was free, you just have to find a way to sneak in. That was the plan but there was much activity there today with filming and all. It's very close to me so I do intend on going back for another visit one day but does anyone know for sure how to get in the building without paying or asking permission? Today the whoe building looked locked up tight. Local people from the area nearby- please tell me how does one get into the hospital???

AnonymousVisiter	I tried sneaking into this hospital two times now but it seems to be on lockdown. There are gaurds posted at all the entrances and they only speak spanish so I couldn't even communicate with them. We went int through the back gate and got stopped immediately by a fairly large man with a machete. With no way to talk to him, the pleading/bribing option dissapeared. It seems the only way to get in would be climbing the fire escape (located to the left side of the main building) and looking for a roof access. I really want to check this place out at night and was wondering if anyone has recently successfully got in and how you guys got in. Heard you can bribe the gaurds for 100 so I might try that. Lmk guys :D

ReadinManga Last Seen: 10/30/2010 11:56:15 AM	I was there tonight with about eleven people, it took us a while but we were able to successfully barter out way in. We got a tour and we filmed using six different cameras, some of my friends felt pinches, heard noises, and another one of them felt a touch on her back which led her to cry and leave. I didn't feel much except for temperature changes and having an overall uneasy feeling. Most of us also had the feeling that something was behind us, and watching us. The creepiest room of all was the one with all the graffiti on it and eyes as if they were watching our every move. Anyway. you guys should check it out, we had to pay ten dollars a person to get in. but if you're lucky you might get in for free if you talk to the right person and say the right things, try to bring someone who speaks Spanish, that helps. -Happy Haunting! The surgical room is the hotspot of the whole place and that's our main spot to check. If you guys are good at climbing, there is a way to climb up to the 2nd story window from the front. the only thing is that u can only check out the 2nd floor haha!

AnonymousVisiter * US	Me my boyfriend and sister went wednesday and thursday we got a tour from the guard. He charges ten bucks a person. And the building we were able to go in was the asylum because the hospital is locked up due to filming according to the guard. He said Dec 29 we can go in and yes he only speaks spanish and does carry a machete for his protection he's very nice. So he told us to take a tour by ourselves and then he would take us to the under ground tunnels. So we walked the floors very creepy and you can hear a crying noise. We went to room 323 sat there for five minutes and moved on. Thats the room where the medium was scratched. A lot of creepy things the building is really old inside its a trip theres so many stories about the asylum that was also a nurses cottage and a cottage for railroad patients family to stay well they were patients of hospital idk to me it looked like it could of housed all them people within all them years. You should go if your bad ass like my bf he was walking like nothing thru the halls no light but the little flashlight I had he would even go in the rooms and not come out and me and my sister would get scared call out for him and me and my sister would close our eyes and hug each other lol. we went to the tunnels that was very old and creepy. We seen the dolly they wheeled the bodies in thru the tunnels. We seen the spot where a lady died from a heart attack after going back after the film crew left for the day and I guess something spooked her she died the film crew found her the next day. I would of never walked back down the tunnels by myself whatever I forgot could wait till tomorrow what a bendeja. Ayways just go check it out its scary and well worth the ten bucks dont be tight ass pay the money to go. Take someone who speaks espanol.
