Location Description:

A teacher\director is said to haunt the theater. According to legend he died of a heart attack the opening night of West Side Story and never got to see the production. Students have claimed to see and feel a presence in the theatre especially later at night after long rehearsals . West Side Story hasn`t been put on out of respect but once since his death.

prr_sun Last Seen: 1/16/2008 8:04:50 PM	agreed. the auditorium does have such a weird vibe to it. i would know —i rehersed there!!! it is especially creepy when you`re alone in the basement. when the directer tells you bring some props from the basement, you always have to bring a buddy. a friend of mine said that she had an encounter with the ghost of the director. one day she was going to the makeup room but the door was shut tight and she couldnt open it. this is weird because nobody ever locks the makeup room door and she knew no one was inside. so she kindly asked, "mr. (the ghost name), can i please come in?" and the door opened. —yet she keeps restating that she wasnt afraid. it seems that the "ghost" of the deceased director is nothing scary to the people who work in the theatre: to some, his ghost is a welcomed presence that we all know in our hearts that will protect us and give us the best of luck when we preform. (—RIP my friend)

AnonymousVisiter	want to know something awesome? i go to Morton East, I'm in the theater program, and i have seen Mr.Drews Story Time! [this happened last year] my first day in theater i was helping to put up a sing on the town hall [we were building the set for bye bye birdie] and i was standing on a latter, [note: i'm horribly clumsy.] i lost my balance and almost fell, when all of a sudden i was pushed forward, and from the corner of my eyes i saw a man. later i told Carmelo [student technical officer at the time] he had me describe the man. and later on told me the story of mr.drews. i've seen him only once after that. thank's Mr.Drews! R.I.P -Jessica age 15. sophomore.

AnonymousVisiter H US	not only did I go to school at Morton East for 4 yrs I was also in the tech guild as well. I know the theatre very well. I have had alot of strange occurences happen to me & my friends there! It is very Haunted!

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I went to school there in the mid 60's and we used the stage for our gym classes and had our basketball games up there. Underneath the stage were the locker rooms and showers. When they opened the field house annex it was really appreciated with wonder! Back then the auditorium was a real dismal and depressing place. They started to overhaul it, but stopped after replacing a section of seats or so. The walls were so black from soot and age that you couldn't even see the murals on them. The ceiling was cracked and would drop plaster on you! I always hoped they'd fix it up some day. Anyway, I had the "ghost teacher" as a Drama teacher when he was alive. Great guy. Truly dedicated to the cause of the students. One night were were really behind building sets for a little theater production of Hamlet. This teacher stayed all night by himself to finish off the sets for us. If I am not mistaken this teacher was only in his early 50's or so when he passed away.

AnonymousVisiter ** -	i agree. this is my last year at morton. everyone who's in theatre seems very found of him even not knowing him. there is a presence you feels in there but its not a bad presence. everyone has total resepect for him. there's another haunting in there, but this time a janitor. the schools really haunted. someone died in the old pool where they now store old desks. the school may not be so great but when it comes to its staff and students of the past's history it really makes you interested i the school.

I asked my teacher about the pool that was closed down and it almost seems like he was hiding something and really wouldn't tell me the whole story. The Auditorium is haunted and ancient. It could be possible that it is haunted.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Hey i go to Morton East too currently i'm a sophomore (09-10) but even though its my first year there at East i'm no stranger to that school and to all its stories....i've heard about the death of Mr.Drews...i also heard that the last time they did that play (West Side Story) this boy a student that was part of the cast (or crew) also passed away. This year they are planning to do it again...opening night is this spring hopefully it turns out GREAT.!! Just like how Mr.Drews wanted it too. I've also heard about the kid that drowned in the pool...its crazy. i performed in our dance show this fall on stage for my dance class and i didnt feel any "presence" (thank goodness) but also maybe cause i was more concerned in doing well in my performance....=] -Bianca, 15

AnonymousVisiter ** US	omg this is scary but the place were i get more creeped out is on the old pool i walked by it and it looks old they were remodeling i havent seen how it looks or anything but something gives me the chills about it :/ have any of u notice that when we leave to go home not many ppl come out from those doors next to the pool. My teacher told me about some teacher dying in the auditorium but she didnt told us the whole story because she said we "would go complain to other teachers what she said" She told me tat he was really old ugh i cant remember!!!!!!!!!!!wat she said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oooh and some kids proximately 10 have felt something in the auditorium even some security guards that the old guy died of a heart attack plus n when he died.....(idk if u guys have seen ms.odonell substitude cuz ms.odonell is pregnant tat teacher took the place of the guy who died and she has felt something in her class)right after she took over for the teacher who died

AnonymousVisiter	I have never felt a presences of any sort. Not that i do not believe but that if i did, i wouldn't call it haunting. If there is a spirit I'm sure it has nothing but good intentions. Also Try not to believe everything that is being said, some people are sick and think it is funny to speak a man that passed and make other scared or paranoid. Unless you personally were of of those student who knew Mr. Drew, Then your word is really nothing ( No offense), But please be respectful.

AnonymousVisiter	i hearfd dese stories to bout da auditorium n da kis dat drowned i always ditchd class in my sophmore yr (09-10) n ill go back stage of da auditorium wen i was back dere wit my friend we were both scared it did feel lik if sum1 was dere wit us coudl be mr. drews who knos i wanna go back dere again..n fir da kid dat drowned ive gone 2da basement also wen i ditched very scary lucky da boys locker 4rm da old pool was open mi n my friend went in n it was very dark i still got da videos it was very scary cuz one of da showers turned on and da light aboved started swinging n thru my fone it lookd like sum1 was standin it was very scary i tried 2c if da pool where he died was open but it was closed but dere was desk n chairs i culd c thru da crack n u can as if sum1 is movin dem inside..-leslie m
