Location Description:

Story says that a bus full of little kids ran off the bridge and they all died. Rumors are, if you go there, turn your lights off, and put your car in neutral; something will push you across to safety. After you are pushed across get out and put powder on your windows and you can see little baby hand prints.

This is Cry Baby Bridge in the day, I have also gone at night. The car did move, but only in one direction (making the incline theory more believable) We went back in the day to take pictures and to level the bridge, it was level, but we only have a small tool to measure. You can see orbs in this picture with my friend Jade, but over all, I don't think it's haunted. Now down the road is a different story!

The story above is not true it's about a mother and her baby that she dropped off of the bridge. I've been out there several times and it's not scary at all when you put your car in neutral you will roll back depending on the way you went to the bridge because it is right off a hill! Ha. Also another thing the baby powder doesn't work. And I personally have never seen a ghost once my brothers girlfriend and her sister and sister-in-laws were out there and swear on everything that they saw a women glowing and was walking towards there car and tried to open the door. Other than that your supposed to go at midnight on halloween. How cliche lol. And now they have security cameras up because people used to dump junk on off the bridge which by the way isn't the real bridge the real one is down stream

If your not scared of it then maybe you should go there at midnight on Halloween and then I bet you'll get the crap scared out of you. I know that ghosts exists because i've had a lot of experiences and I think that every person that does not believe in ghosts such as yourself will have a experience one of these days! Maybe you should go to Bardolph's old high school, or Sherman Hall in Macomb,IL, or The Bartonville Insane Asylum,or Veshnu Springs in Tennessee,IL then I bet you'll believe in ghosts. So don't talk crap about something that you don't know is true!

AnonymousVisiter NEW JERSEY US	well I get conflicting stories on the bridge but as a skeptic I still went there and had an experience. my husband and i went there and put my car in neutral. The car rocked back and forth several times until hubby took off and turned around at first house. I had him try it 1 more time and car did same thing and we practically began to skid off bridge. I went to work that next day and told a couple of teens about it and they asked me bout handprints which I had never heard before, so we went out and sure enough there were small handprints on the back of my hatchback. It took a few days before those kids would talk to me normal again. I went there thinking it was a hill but it was very flat. Even if there was a slight slope, a car, truck or any other vehicle would not rock back and forth like that unless there is a physical force. just a skeptic but I know what went on that night. Just a thought!

cgirl79 Last Seen: 2/1/2010 10:39:38 PM	Not sure how to get from Kewanee to Monmouth but there is a highway/interstate type road from galesburg to monmouth. Once you get to monmouth from galesburg hang a right at the rt67 stop light. not sure how far north out of town it is not far though. turn left on 230th then drive a little over a mile. Dont let the landscape fool you. It may look like bridge is slanted but trust me it IS not. Put car in neutral then turn around at next available spot and try it again. If there is any dust on back of your vehicle when youre done, look closely. Its weird. have fun!

AnonymousVisiter	I went last night, on Halloween eve at midnight, there was handprints on the bumper and when we flashed our lights, we saw someone standing in front of our car! It was sooo scary! I'm not even lying. We did it differently though, we all got out, put the keys on the roof of the car, well, Escalade, then i screamed "I KILLED YOUR BABY, LADY!" Then the car locked and we screamed and got terrified. We got the keys, hurried in the car, then flashed the lights cause we heard a baby screaming loudly! We saw a woman looking figure in front of our lights. Then we put our car in neutral, and it pushed us backwards, uphill. How crazy?!

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Hey this is shai,nana,and Tia and we went to this on a sunday night, we stopped the car and sat there. nothing happened at first then nana screamed cry baby! the car started shaking and there were about 10 little kids holding hands surround our car in a circle. singing a cry babys coming we got out totally freaked and the car alarm started going off and the windshield wippers were wipping fast. we got back in the car and locked the door and u could see the little kids pushing us toward the other side of the bridge i guess to make us safe. this is crazy i normally dont believe this stuff....until it happened to me... dont believe me try it. =]

AnonymousVisiter	My Cousin has done this. She said you have to go through a Car wash first. And yes she put the powder on the car. there were hand prints on the bumpers and windows and her kids were to little to touch the windows. Make sure U Go through the cr was and then take like scrubbing bubbles with and washh the bumper and windex for the windows. and that will verify it for sure.

AnonymousVisiter	I was there on friday night(4/23/10). Nothing happened. A few of the people I was with decided to walk down from the hill and on to the bridge, they chickend out. Supposedly they saw someone standing on the bridge but when I went down there was nothing. The area around the bridge is a little freaky but nothing to crap your pants about. We actually stood in the middle and turned off our flashlight, nothing happened again! When we were standing at the top of the hill we did see some orbs or flashes of lights coming from the area around the bridge, don't know if it was some sort of paranormal activity but thats all we saw

AnonymousVisiter	I've been there myself with a few friends. It happened to us. We shut the car off and put it in neutral. Sat there for a short time, and began to be pushed over the bridge. The powdered shugar reveled several hand prints on the back window, and back bumper.

AnonymousVisiter	I went last night.. My family owns land out there, the land is about 1 minute away on the same gravel road you get out there on. The land also has part of the stream that's under cry baby bridge right next to it. To be honest it's pretty scary... There is a really old blue swing out by it and it moves by its self, the swing was there when they bought it. There is also road signs in the middle of the land that says titans 1 and titans 2 and there's one more i just don't remember it.. Also there is another sign that says witches house 1 mile and one mile would be about over the stream. Anyways we went to cry baby last night and let me say it was the worst experience in my life. So we went in the back of a flat bed truck. Now let me say that takes guts... When we were driving down the road my aunt took a picture and there was an orb. When we got on the bridge we parked at the end and got out. It wasn't that scary until my anut and uncle started taking pictures.. To many orbs to count..we brought baby powder and it worked. There were hand prints on the truck before we even put it on the truck.. When we were pulling away there was a little kids laugh as clear as day. At the end of the bridge there was tennis ball. My dad bounced it and it went flying towards the bridge. When we got back to the land we were looking at the pictures and my uncle got a picture with an apparation of a lady. When you zoomed in there was notice able arms, legs, hands, feet, everything! I don't know about you but I think we should get ghost hunters out there!

AnonymousVisiter * US	this shit is whack caaaaa i was there like a week ago and got out of my car and babies started chasing me, i ran thru the woods till i found a little house but when i walked in a women was standing in the middle of the kitchen with a gun so i dived behind a couch and grabbed a lamp and beat the fuck out of the bitch but then the babies found me and started beating me with some toys till i ran down stream and found another bridge and from there i called a friend and he picked me up and the next day i went to get my car but the fuckin lil kids pushed it off the bridge :/

AnonymousVisiter - -	I have visited this bridge, well these bridges, twice now and I don't really believe either of them to be haunted. Both times my friends and I went and we put baby powder all over the car. The first bridge is a little difficult to find as the turn off is kind of hidden, especially at night. When we knew we were close we got out and covered the car in baby powder and drove down the hill to the bridge. The bridge is scary, I'll give you that. I kind of expected to look out my window and see a ghost! And the car did roll, but that's because the way we came, we had to drive down a hill! But the first time we tried it, our car not only rolled down the bridge, it also shook back an forth a little. That was kinda scary. The second bridge, which was a few miles down the road wasn't scary at all. Nothing happened. I firmly believe in ghosts and I have now driven twice to this bridge (which is nearly 2 hours away) waiting for somethig to happen and it hasn't! Although I was too scared to get out of the car! Maybe something would happen if we got out? Idk... But a friend of mine told me that when she was in high school, her friends went to this location and got scratches down their back!! So I'm not sure what to believe. Sorry for the long post..

AnonymousVisiter ALASKA US	I asked hubby if he had heard of this bridge and he said he had. We lived in Monmouth several yrs. ago. Not sure exactly where it is or what to believe. I do think "GHOST HUNTERS" would be someone to call and get them out there to see if this is for real or made up. But not sure if this is enough of something that they would want to investigate.
