Right off of 83 there is this massive gothic looking structure, thats quite creepy, this massive structure is peabodys mansion, peabody repordetly died of a heart attack and shortly after that his family moved out of the house, the place is truly creepy and locals often see apparitions.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Peabody's Mansion off of Route 83 and 31st is truely haunted. I have been there and have a ghost video from the basement. Trying to go back to capture another video resulted in a fine of $150 (could have been worse, could have been cuffed). GO AT YOUR OWN RISK! Have a lookout for cops. The windows are now completely boarded up so prepartion would be needed to enter this demonic haven. Dont take any chicks, they get scared to easily, unless you know some awesome chick that aint gonna run away as soon as you enter. THIS PLACE IS REAL!!! But don't be convinced by merely what I say here. It is up to you to experience this fuked up place yourself. Bring a light, bring a cam, and pray to fukin god you don't encounter anything cause you will be fuked up for a while. Good Luck!!!

AnonymousVisiter A -	The Peabody property is called Mayslake, and is owned by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Francis Peabody, millionaire who built the mansion, died of a heart attack just a year after construction was finished. His family moved away shortly afterwards, selling the estate to the Franciscan Order. In the 1960's it was said that Peabody had been interred in a tomb, a crystal coffin filled with preservative fluid. The supposed tomb was the Portiuncula Chapel,a copy of the chapel of St Francis of Assisi. The Chapel had been built on the site of Peabody's death as a memorial to him. Rumor had it that the Franciscan monks patrolled the "tomb" area, and had stringent punishments, ranging from beating intruders with clubs to making them kneel on marbles or ball bearings and pray for the soul of the departed millionaire.

AnonymousVisiter M US	Know some friends that busted into this place awhile back. Apparently cops are pretty much always there and enjoy arresting intruders. The mansion itself holds tours and stage productions so if you try and break in at night and get caught, you're in BIG trouble.

AnonymousVisiter	I was there in the early 80's with My Husband and a bunch of friends and I can tell You there's something very strange about it! we went in there and there was empty graves with heat comming from them and it was a clear night when We got there , but it was very cloudy in the cemetery, also since then, out of the eight friends that I was with five of them have died. including My Huband! I think the place is cursed, don't go there!!

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Very haunted...ghosts everywhere. The place is too creepy to go alone. The whole group heard voices screaming in the hallway. Dont know if I could ever go back!!!! I hear that July 2nd and 3rd is the scariest day because Mr Peabody died on the fourth of July weekend......

AnonymousVisiter	Omg it was the scariest place i have ever been!!!!!! I just saw barney jacking off out the window and 20 cody bests running around the court yard! and the statue at the entrance was very she male looking. My friend had a panic attack. DONT GO HERE ITS VERY SCARY!!!!!!

AnonymousVisiter	i lived there with my dad for years, he was the care taker. every night you would hear a girl bouncing a ball in the room above mine. Also there is a huge staircase going up to where peabodys maids live, and at the bottom of the staircase theres a pool of dry blood. The place is a cool place to explore.
