Location Description:

This cemetery is home of the "Black Angel." Dodge's wife died and in her remembrance they made a statue of the angel that she dreamt of before she died and put it in the front of the cemetery. The statue is known as The Black Angel. Her eyes follow you no matter what direction you go. Whoever is "blessed" by her is on the sickly side from then on. Small lights have been seen in the trees behind the older grave sites. Feelings of someone walking on the heels of visitors.

AnonymousVisiter H US	UHHH,I was there plenty of nights,her eyes never folowed anyone,I also climbed up & touched her hand,etc,nothing happens.The only thing I ever saw there was a group of people walking around with black robes/cloaks,trying to act bad & cool.

AnonymousVisiter ** -	First of all, the location is not in the 51502 zip code...it's not a PO box. Council Bluffs only has 2 zips - 51501 and 51503, and this cemetery is in 51503 if I recall correctly. Secondly, and as previously pointed out, it is most unfortunate that this cemetery and its famous monument are haunted more by disrespectful jerks than actual ghosts. This is not to say that the location doesn't have paranormal activity. I have been there several times, and have several good orb photographs and experiences to justify that something is indeed going on there. However, none of it had anything to do with the angel itself. The real lure of the cemetery from a paranormal perspective is the fact that it used to be an indian burial ground, and was then taken over by the Mormons in the early 1900s. Furthermore, there is at least one ax murderer buried there, in a section known as Potter's Field, as well as several other unmarked graves of the poor and the inmates of the Squirrel Cage Jail. It is this section that creates the unrest in the cemetery, not the angel itself.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I been there quite a bit and only 3 weird things happened while i was there. 1st it rained when we arrived and quit after we left. 2nd water comes out of a thing below her and when we got up to her it stopped. 3rd normally she's got lights on around her at night and once they wern't on and 3 hours later my buddy got told his grandmother died. otherwise all the other times i went there nothing happened.

AnonymousVisiter	Walk there everyday. Lots of people do. Nothing ever weird. Most likely anything that could seem strange at night is likely due to running deer...or the local dogs and cats. Also, the older gravesites are towards the woods. The "orbs" people see are from the yard lights from the houses on north 1st and oak park lane. Sorry everyone...I really would like it better if it were really haunted.

AnonymousVisiter * US	this angel is a very beautiful tribute to a woman whose daughters obviously loved her very dearly. I find the angel very, very comforting, and the story of the dream the mother had comforting as well....an angel coming to accompany her to heaven, isn't that what we all should hope for as we leave this earth? Nothing frightening at all about this, quit trying to make everything creepy.
