DreamSurfer Last Seen: 2/13/2008 12:50:17 AM	There is not only the Camarillo airport, but also Point Mugu & the Sea Bee base nearby. Many people have seen things that appeared to be UFOs in the area, but more often than not, it can be attributed to the military base or even aircraft from the airport. I`ve heard f people seeing old fighter planes circa WWI and WWII in this area, although what many people don`t know is that there is a flying museum/club that flies circa WWI and WWII planes (including a Japanese fighter plane as part of the club or museum) that all fly out of Camarillo airport. The military base (Point Mugu)also flies helicopters out of the base that can appear to be something like a UFO, especially at night, but in daylight as well! There is also a missile test range at the base there. The same is true for test missiles & rockets launching satellites one can see for many miles that are shot up from the base near Santa Maria. Yep! Sometimes you can see them from the Ojai Valley all the way to Camarillo, Ventura & Oxnard! A schedule of the satellite launchings are available from the nasa.gov web site for those interested. If you`ve kept a log, journal or calendar, you can prolly check the dates/times against the launch schedule and find most of what you are seeing is explainable as launches, or if you have a pair of good night-vision binoculars, you can usually see that what you are seeing is prolly one of the faster helicopters, or even an occasional stealth aircraft. Neat stuff, but likely not a UFO. On a clear, dark night (new moon, eclipse,etc.), you can see all kinds of things from the Camarillo (and Ventura county area), including satellites going across the sky in their orbit, shooting stars, neat aircraft, etc.
