It is said that in the late 1980`s three students committed suicide in the month of October and that if you go to the school on the night on which they died you can still see them hanging from the tree which they hung themselves and wander the halls. Neighbors of the school and janitors have heard screaming and footsteps when there is no one there at all.

Students and staff have experienced unexplained happenings especially behind the ceramics classroom near the portables and in the 300 and 400 quads. Experiences have ranged between being touched, hearing voices, things falling out of cupboards, cold spots, physical manifestations, and the feeling of being watched.

One of the teachers who went to GHS explained that one of his friends actually commited suicide at the school. How true that is, is unknown.

If you dare, after midnight place a notebook sized mirror in the crook of the old oaktree in front of library. Make sure that your back is toward the gym and the reflected image is the courtyard behind you. Face the mirror, glance over your right then left shoulder once. look at your face in the mirror and speak loudly saying "BLOODY MARY" three times. Those whom you seek will be visible in the mirror, when you have been satisfied with that which you seek simply bow to the tree holding the mirror. NEVER DO THIS WHILE THE TORCH IS LIT! HAIL TO THEE,GLENDORA. HAIL TO THEE. 1985

G.H.S. haunted? thats plausible, but the hanging stuff is bunk. I can only remember one person that passed on while attending G.H.S. and that was CHRIS B.

There were no hangings on campus, but I was C/o 2000 in marching band and friends with both of the boys who committed suicide in 1996-7 one did kill himself on school property I saw it. I knew both boys really well, good friends. It was a tragedy and to this day I at least have never forgotten or completely gotten over it.

This is true. Last October a couple of my friends and I wanted to see if it was true. We went to the school at around 8pm and found that at 10:36pm we heard screams and we turned around and saw two people hanging from the tree by the hallway of the 300 and 400 quad. we ever got pictures of a female walking through the halls who walked right through mr criscis classroom.

In 1996-7 there were two suicides of students who attended the school, one killed himself towards the rear of campus near the football field (which is also near the tennis courts), and the other at his home. I knew both of them and I was c/o 2000. That year, as I recall, another girl died of a brain aneurysm and a coach/teacher also died. The memorial torch was lit four times that year. The suicides were a month apart, in December and January, iirc. There were also some chemical imbalance and home issues that were factors. This is first time I have heard of GHS being haunted...

This is possibly the teacher's friend that I wrote about below. The teacher is in his 20's so it makes sense.

Its true...All of it! thats why i've been hearing voices, and footsteps. I was a witness... I didnt mean to see it but i did...At first all i saw was this cute couple crying and holding hands then they stopped and got two chairs and rope out of the car in front of my house. I watched them and they threw the rope over the branches, on the big tree, and as they stood up on the chairs i finally knew what they were doing. But i couldnt move or scream. But i heard them scream. They were holding hands even after they jumped. It was the weirdest thing  about a minute after they stopped swinging they both looked at me straight in the eyes.

I think the hanging stuff is crap, but in like 70 or 71 Kenny Stallon and his 2 tein brothers larry and gary painted a 20 foot face of jimmy morrison on the front of the gym on the right side and a few days later painted frank zappa's face on the side of the gym(left side) it was the hippy era, and i loved it. there were black arm bands being worn by students and rallys held where we skipped classes. The football team was only about half of what they talked and the marching band won everything they

participated in. try that against the la county top notch schools. gimmie the beat boys

class of 72 still rules

About the three hangings, does anyone know any websites confirming that? Maybe like a news website or article online?

The only info I know about the "hangings" is that at least one of them was an actual suicide that happened at or near the school.
One of the teachers, who is now at a different school, had a friend that was very depressed. He went to ask for help from a friend that he had a crush on for quite some time but she brushed him off. He then went to the teacher, who has a student at GHS at the time, but he had something to do. Depressed with no one to turn to he shot himself. How legitimate that is, I don't honestly know. The teacher could have been making it up but I heard it first hand. I'm going to look up some articles tonight.

I went to Glendora High and I have at least three personal experiences. The first was when I was in math class where they have the cooking class. We were correcting homework when all of the cupboards swung open and dishes, pots, and pans began pouring onto the ground. The heavy metal door was propped open with the clip to keep it from closing. It slammed shut about 5 seconds after all of stuff had fallen out. All of the doors have a hydrolic to keep it from slamming. My teacher actually tested the door there was no way it could have slammed.
Another time was when my friend and I were walking behind the ceramic classroom when all of a sudden my friend screamed and whipped around. She said someone had breathed heavily in her ear and grabbed her arm.

Those are two of my personal experiences. I wouldn't/couldn't say GHS is actually haunted but I would really like to do an investigation.

One person did kill themselves behind the ceramics building in 1996/97, with a gun. I was a junior at the time. Very tragic indeed. My understanding it was done during school hours although the district was very mum on any details. We got our information from a teacher who probabaly wasn't supposed to say anything, but basically said that we would find out anyways.

I always felt very creepy going over there.

I graduated in 99, and can also confirm that this story is true.  I remember going to my 2nd period art class, and being told by the teacher that a student had just shot himself behind the building (where ceremics was).  3 other people (1 teacher, 2 students) also died that same year, but not on campus.

I am a Junior right now @ GHS and I have never heard of any of these so-called suicides. I have asked multiple teachers and never have one of them mentioned a death that has happened on campus. I for sure know that Vincent Giovannazi committed suicide this past year up at Colby Trail but never have heard of any hauntings. Yes GHS is a really creepy place @ night especially w/o any lights but i don't think it's haunted (@ least not horribly haunted).....................

Geez, Mr. or Miss Anonymous....why so specific with names(when you won't even post YOUR name)? You mentioned Vincent when the whole subject was about GHS. Yes he did go to the high school...but what does this have to do with his specific tragedy. ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. Or at least if you were going to mention it, you could have said something to the effect of  'a boy that went to GHS' or something similar. Why, you may ask, is this any of my concern? Well, This boy happens to be my cousin.

I graduated in98 and I knew the kid who shot himself on campus. He was in band and got picked on a lot. His name was Brian dirkens . He had been called a mean nickname since Jr. High because it was rumored he was caught playing with himself in the bathroom. Jerkin dirkins. I doubt that rumor was true. THe other kid killed himself at Thanksgiving dinner table but I can't remember his name but he had long blonde hair and played bass in the orchestra.

I graduated Glendora in '98. I remember there was two suicides when I was a junior ('96/'97). One was a band member, who sadly was picked on a lot. He killed himself with a gun by the tennis courts. The other was a guy in one of my classes and he killed himself at home. I've never had anything creepy happen to me when I was at school, so who knows for sure if there really is truth to the haunting part.

If you graduated from GHS in 98 then you know the kid that shot himself on campus. I heard the gunshot and then saw the two narcs Karen and that big African-American lady run by my classroom door. If you graduated in 98 please leave your first name and last initial. We all pretty much knew each other. I'm Greg D.
