Location Description:

Was converted into a Christian boarding school in the 1960`s. It was shut down in the mid 80`s. Doors opened and closed by themselves drastic temperature changes pictures flew off walls windows opening and shutting these events were witnessed by quite a few of the other students often by groups of us at one time the temperature changes and things flying off the walls seem to occur at the same time.
Someone has bought this lodge and is planning to restore it and open it as a lodge again, but it is heavily gaurded now and its not a good idea to go up there anymore.

I totally went online just now specifically looking to see if i could find anything about this experience I had about ten years ago. we'd heard that there was a place in grass valley that was a religious school for boys, that was haunted and that some of the boys bodies had been found in the lake in front of the house. we went in a group and took video cameras in case something interesting happened. it was very eerie... there was a lot of satanic graffiti, and evidence that there had been people partying and burning candles and fires. There was one room that was filled with bees, just like another person posted. I remember one sink was filled completely with the bees bodies, and the other sink was filled completely with the bees wings. Also, there was a hallway with religious pamphlets, (I know we took one, I have no idea what we did with it) but it was published by the people who ran the school. The minister's name that we'd heard about (the one who killed the kids supposedly) was printed on the pamphlets. And anyway, the hallway was filled with these pamphlets, about 2 feet deep all the way down the hall. There were other strange things, but I wouldn't go back because A) I think I'd get arrested B) the foundation was very weak and I remember a few points at which the floor beneath us sank or gave in, and I imagine ten years later it'd be likely you would fall from one story through to another. AnonymousVisiter ** US	Hello, I was a student at the boarding school in the early 80's. The stories of pictures flying off the walls windows opening and shutting by themselves and drastic tempurature changes- like it got really cold fast and youcould see your breath cold :( when it was summer and still 70 degrees out side the bedroom. It was a christian boarding school for girls and boys with a school and separate sleeping wings at night. Bill Mansdorfer was the preacher/ owner but he never killed any boys! the Lake was man made and named lake Galalee and some summers we could swim in it but it isnt very deep and frequently had too much unhealthy bacteria to swim in. I met my ex husband there and . we rented the house up the hill the hague house in fact we had a home birth through a midwife and my daughter was born in the house. both houses were definately haunted. The hague house was more residual- footsteps on the stairs doors opening and closing ect, the boarding school was more poltergist and evil. BUT IT IS FOR REAL. Diana K

AnonymousVisiter	The house was built in 1905. It was a home/school for "troubled youth", boys. It was back then when the killings and touture took place, not in the 60's or 80's.

AnonymousVisiter	I have been there four times in my youth, around midnight of course. Once I saw blood, but decided it must have been a practale joke played on me by the guys I went with. I went another time and watched papers levetae off the floor. Another time I didn't even make it into the house. A male friend of mine and I drove up the gravel drive way and we stopped the car because we saw a scary old woman come out of the trees on the left side of the car, walk right in front of the car, and dissapear off tothe right. My friend got out to loof for her, but she was gone. She had long white hair and looked mean. Another time I saw a white dog in the house float above the floor as it passed by. Now the house has been restored and is open on saturdays for the farmers market. I can't wait to go, as I have never seen the place in daylight. The house was built in 1905 as a home/school for bad boys. They chained these boys to the wall and and killed them in groups is my understanding.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I don't know about any hauntings or such at the house, but the house was originally built in 1905 for the Foote family who ran the Northstar Mine, not as a home/school for boys. The house was later sold and became a school. Now the house is owned by the Nevada County Land Trust who is in the process of restoring it. Tours are available during the growers' market, but only the downstairs. Upstairs is still unsafe.

AnonymousVisiter	LOL this is too funny, I also lived at Northstar house when it was the "academy" I think it was 1978 - 79 I was there, I also did the "firewatch" patrol where I got to stay up all night walking around and checking off patrol sheets to say I saw no fires, well I mostly checked in the "girls side" :) and I can not remember any haunting or other type stuff, the temp changes were because the place was freaking old! and if anything spooky was going on It was either scared of me... or non existant .... AnonymousVisiter * US	I was at this lodge in the 80's and experienced several paranormal events. There was a room on the 2nd floor that was boarded off that rumors had it someone committed suicide in. The long hallway that lead to this room was very cold right next to this door. One day that door almost flew off the wall . We had to send a priest in to investigate who later became very angry that we were playing with spirits like this one.

AnonymousVisiter * US	I use to live in the house that was the supers house, just down the hill from the mansion. We spent many evenings wandering in the mansion. There was so much energy there in the mansion, and all over the property. I also was witness to the sink full of bee's wings and the other full of (bees) bodies. There was a room that was so strangely freezing cold. It seemed to have no purpose, it was to small to be a bedroom, I do not know what it had been used for but it was in a strange location, and very dark and cold even though it was in the middle of many other rooms that were of normal room temp. Any time I was in the house I could feel an energy, very strong energy. While inside there were many times that random doors would close with a bang, or would open with out any one assisting them, I always felt safe in the house, but could feel something there. During the time I lived on the property we always would go up and chase away kids who were trying to party and destroy property. I had never heard any stories of the bodies in the pond, but one night I woke up thinking my young son was missing, and I was screaming he was in the pond with the "other boys" I dismissed it as a bad dream, but after reading this board I am floored, I somehow knew about bodies...but I never heard anything about it.

AnonymousVisiter - -	This is the first I have heard about any hauntings there.. in 69 and 70 I attended several weekend retreats with Bill Mansdoerfer and also volunteered weekends to cook for a kids camp. I was with a Christian group called the Christian World Liberation Front with Jack Sparks in Berkeley(Christian Hippies, or Jesus People) and several others from the Jesus Movement of the 60's and 70's .. I had a most powerful supernatural experience there while reading my Bible and seeking the Lords help about where I was supposed to move to and work for the Lord, I was about to give up being a Christian and opened my Bible to a passage that painted a beautiful picture of the ideal church and how it should function.. a divine presence filled the room and my heart and assured me that my prayers were heard. That night I went home to SF and a letter was waiting for me that said on the envelope" When was the last time you read Eph. 4?" It was the very passage I read as I was having that experience at the Lodge.. it was an invitation to come and live in an awesome Christian Commune in Orange county that set me on a path of lifelong service for HIm.. so my experience there was not bad but Good.. Good conquers evil and God is Lord of all!
