Overnight maintenance and guards have reported seeing children running through the building. The lifeguard break room is always cold and often feels like someone is watching. At night the gates rattle and shake. Children can be heard calling out "Jack" (the person the pool is named for) or the night maintenance man`s name. Also footsteps can be heard throughout the night. Police often are called in to make sure it is not vandals. Never find anything but the noises continue.

Levagood park is a creepy place at night. I,ve been to this park many many times, I grew up a few blocks from it. Unfortunately I`ve never seen anything abnormal. But when I was in first grade we took a field trip there. A 5 year old kid was there, and he was at the top of this HUGE yellow curly slide and he fell off. It was probably a 20 foot drop, and he got WRECKED! Man there was blood all over the place. The ambulance came and got him, he was out cold. I dont know what happened to that kid, he may very well have died and now he haunts the park at night. And during the field trip, we ate Smores Crunch cereal. I wish they still made that cereal, it was awesome.

Levagood park is NOT haunted. I've been there a million times, I swim there on a team, nothing strange has ever happened to me or anyone else there, that I know of.What in the world gives you the idea that there are ghosts in Levagood park? That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. I go there every day in the summer for synchro... NOTHING IS WEIRD ABOUT DUNWORTH POOL OR LEVAGOOD PARK! Period! Sorry to burst your bubble.

It's been a good 20 years since I've been to the Levagood area, but back in the day I was there all summer every summer. I had early morning swimming lessons there and never saw anything weird or scary or unusual. But, of course, I was never there at night.

I grew up one block from the park and pool. I swam there when it was known as the seashore...actual circular sandy beach around center dive tower and platform. I walked that park many nights. The only thing haunting the park were the occasional drunk kids hiding bottles from parents or the frisky teenage lovers steaming up windows of their cars parked in the back of the lots.

I lived in Dearborn from 1952 until 1957.  I was in 3rd grade in 1952.  My sister and I spent our summers at Seashore pool and deveoped wonderful relationship with Jack Dunworth and his wife.  He gave my sister and me free diving lesson, waterskiing lessons and free lesson at his ssiter and his dance studio in acrobatics.  A wonderful man and he deserves a pool to be named in his honor. It was a time in life when we were gone all day until dinner at times. We rode our bikes to the pool. The Good Humor man was outside the pool in his truck. Such wonderful times and memories.

Sit anywhere around the fence on a given night and you'll hear wet feet run from the childrens pool, directly at you, then stops when it gets to the fence.  Not a joke, usually takes a couple hours of sitting there.  Have also heard the high dive spring as if someone had just jumped off.
