Location Description:         
 

The upstairs portion of the old JC Penny building once held the offices of Edward Osborne, one of Turlock`s earliest promiment citizens. Mr. Osborne was fond of cigars and employees of the old JC Penny would occasionally smell cigar smoke in the old upstairs section, even though nobody in the entire building had been smoking and Mr Osborne was long dead.

UPDATE:  Spoke with the building owner who does believe it's haunted, although he hasn't had any personal experiences.  His employees have though.  One employee says that the freight elevator operates by itself in the middle of the night.  Other times the burglar alarm inexplicably sounded in the middle of the night and responding officers heard strange, unfounded noises in the old, unused upstairs portion of the building.
