(On this site tell the Ghost stories.)I have stories and pics of my own, when my wife and I spent halloween night there.(Oct 31,1999). Pic and stories will be add later if I can. My wife and i stayed in room#19.
My wife and I left out of room #19 at the hotel about 10:30 pm to take pictures of the hotel and the town. My wife left her hair brush on the dresser in the north%E2%80%94east side corner of the room. When we returned she found her brush in the east%E2%80%94west side of the room by the restroom floor. It was 12:00 am when I took the pic of the picture on the wall in the hallway(there was no smoking in hotel) but, in the picture there was smoke in the picture. 12:05 am I took a pic of bathroom mirror and there were faces in it(look closely). My camera had a fresh set of batteries in it but, the batteries went dead on me. My wife and I went to bed at about 12:45 am and we started hearing banging, voices and flashes of lights in the room. The lights were out and we were sleeping with our heads towards the east wall, the room was on the end of the second floor.(note no other guests were on the top floors). In the lower room below us was some ghost investigators having a seance. They asked for our room earlier that day. This was the most memorable ghostly experience we ever had in are lives.

I have been playing in and around this hotel since I was 3 years old. My family owned two furniture stores in Jefferson, including the one right across the street, "Haggard's Furniture" at the time. The upstairs of the furniture store (accessible only by on old hand-cranked elevator) is extremely strange. I'm now in my 40's. I've stayed in virtually every room of the Jefferson Hotel. As luck would have it, I've also had the profession of Paranormal Investigation for over 15 years (hmmm...wonder how I got that idea...it's like I was raised around haunted places, huh?). I've actually experienced more activity in the hallways than in the rooms, with something playing "tag" with me one night...well, with me and my EMF detector. There is also a lot of activity in the adjoining Restaurant (Lamache's). When I was a teenager, I remember there were plenty of weird things in Lamanche's kitchen also. There are many hot spots around this city, which comes as no surprise given it's history. Me? I'm T-Arc (http://www.t-arc.org). -KW

Stayed at the Jefferson Hotel too, stayed one night in room 16 with no events and one night in room 19. That head board, at 2 AM started knocking. It knocked so hard it woke my husband and myself up. It happened several times between 2 - 3AM. This is an outside room on the second floor with no way something could be causing the wall or floor to affect the headboard. We were also the only people in the hotel at the time. This is a small place but the food at Lamanche's was terrific! We had a great time and highly recommend folks go there. Take the ghost walking tour if they have it still going. It was great too. :)
