We are trying to raise money to complete the restoration of this old historic hotel and are offering the opportunity to ghost hunt at this VERY Haunted Hotel. All hunts begin at 8:00pm and end around 1am, it is 30.00 per person. The Shanley Hotel was first built in 1845, Burned down on March 18, 1895 ,rebuilt Sept. 1895 on the same foundation. It had over 20 owners in the years leading up to 2007.Many famous people have come & stayed there. President Franklin D.Roosevelt and his wife, Thomas Edison to name a few. The spirits there are always on the move day and night. There is so many from all the different years that its been open. I have seen men from the 1920`s, woman from 1890`s and up to the 1960`s. We have on tape, EVP`s of these spirts, photos of them in full form and of course, your orbs. Doors open & shut, foot steps all hours, music & people talking in the old Bar area. Some interact with you and some just go about their daily haunts. There is an old Bordello, a secret room, closets that lead to other rooms.
There are many stories about the hotel,Booze raids, Lose woman, Dances, Gambling etc. all leading to its haunting. Some push or poke you to get your attention.
Linda Zimmermann, the Ghost Investagator has come and found things out about it. Its on her web site.
I have been to many places that are `Haunted`, but this will make your hair stand up! No one leaves with an empty tape recorder, they love to talk to you. It is now being restored to its beauty days by the new owners. They are hopeing to open it to the public soon. On EVP when asked to the `spirit`,"why are you still here?" they replied, "It`s a hotel isn`t it!" I know I can`t wait for it

In the Bordello I got a dizzy sensation when I first got up there and when I was in the great room, I kept hearing an audible voice in my ear saying "over here" and "Hey". I felt that we were being watched the whole time! The front door opened and closed all night on the first night and there were conversations and people walking in the room that we slept in and no one was there. I loved it and recommend it to anyone who wants to do a real investigation in an extremly haunted place. This place has a great history and I think that because of its colorful past, the spirits who roam the halls and rooms of this old hotel are happy to stay there. Cant wait until it opens to the public...Awesome!!!!! [ 24.59.52.11]

LPrepB Last Seen: 1/16/2008 8:05:25 PM	i get to go to the shanley`s all the time and i myself have seen and heard many strange thinggo on in there.....i remeber one day i was helping them paint the stairs when one day i seen someone walk into one of the rooms down stairs and i kno no one esle was in the hotel at the time but me and a friend of mine and she was in the room on the other side so i kno it couldnt be her.......also one of the 1st times i was in there i was drawn to one room and only one room on the 3rd floor that i didnt really want to leave it and as i was leaven i looked up into the window and i seen a man stading looking out at me and i kno it wasnt to owners of the hotel well maybe not the owners who have it now

dlaure2006 Online Now!	Went to the Shanley this past weekend for a lecture with Linda Zimmerman and it was fantastic! I spent two nights in this haunted place again and was not disappointed! As well as evp and photos, we were also visited in the night with disconnected footsteps going down the hall and stairs. They are having another event with Linda Zimmerman in June, If you are in New York, its a must!

Barbara Last Seen: 9/7/2009 10:15:54 AM	Super Ghost Hunt at the hotel June 2, We got EVP`s saying, Sit Low`, a woman asking for `Betty`,Man asking for `Carol` and we were told to,`Take Care` when we left the old Bordello! It was a stormy night & our recorders are full & camara`s too! Thanks to all who came, It was fun,yet a little spooky.

dlaure2006 Online Now!	The ghost hunt at the Shanley was really awesome! We got alot of really clear evp and quite a few orb photos! It was intense! The owners were very gracious and helpful too! I am going to go back the next chance I get! One of the cool things that happened while we where there was when I used my emf meter, I got a reading in one of the chairs in the bar room and my friend took a picture and we got an orb between the meter and the chair, very cool! There were cold spots like crazy! Infact, while we were sitting on the porch outside, you could feel cold breezes coming from within the building, as if the spirits where coming out to check on us! In the main basement there was an over whelming smell of body odor and come to find out, the area where we smelled the b.o. was where the men shoveled coal! I am really looking forward to going back there. I found out while we were there that the guys from "Scared on Stanton Island" are going to be filming there with a psychic, Lisa Ann and Linda Zimmerman. That should be good!!! Anyone reading this, should check the hotel out, its a really great place!

amanda_3131 Last Seen: 12/1/2008 5:01:43 PM	the ghost hunt at the Shanley hotel was awesome !! we have a couple of evp's and some pictures of orbs and a video of a chair rocking by itself. i seen an indentation of a child sitting on the bed !! i asked a few questions but i got only 2 responses the first question was ''do you like sitting on the bed''? it responded ''yes its very comfortable'' then i asked the child ''whats your name ''? and she said ''people call me margie and this is my home''

abundanceangel8 Last Seen: 7/23/2009 12:25:50 PM	Biggest waste of time and money.....the chair that moved was "rigged" the top floor has not lighting (rest of the building does)....uh - not impressed..... The third floor has no lighting and the flooring is deliberately warped to give the impression of creeking and also noises. Third floor also has a door to the left hand side that is rigged to swing when you walk past it (very disappointed).... I travelled from England to check this place out.........I would never return. Owners are nice - although very $$$ oriented. The place is NOT haunted as per many people's speculations and previous comments. Activity was low when we were there - and the rigged floorboards, white metal chair, and white wooden door was very tacky. Save your money - go elsewhere.....Additionally, the rooms are not private they are all dormitary style rooms.

AnonymousVisiter ** CA	When some of the (once) human spirits really do linger on here trying that hard to make themselves noticeable or to communicate with us then they are in need for help. Although I understand that they need money to restore this building I think it is very wrong of the owners of this hotel to make money on these poor souls.
