The graveyard in Ashland, Kentucky is haunted there are a few stories but I will put my experience me my brother and another friend had rode our bikes there as it grew dark we decided to walk home because we were tired from riding well as we walked off we heard a low growling sound we turned to see what had made the noise thinking it was a dog or some other mundane animal but as we looked back we followed the sound to a nearby mausoleum which showed a human shaped shadow and it looked ragged and torn looking and it began to shamble towards us safe to say we turned tail and ran (oh and by the way me and my brother was 12 and 10) we never looked back but like I said there are many more stories that go with the Ashland cemetery. Editoral note: (by Brian_T; 5/11/09) I just uploaded several pics of Ashland cemetery mostly taken around 2 of its paranormal hotspots:

1)The Ann Poage gravesite, one of the oldest gravesites on the grounds (from 1848), which has been the loaction of several encounters with the unexplained and where I myself had a paranormal encounter in Jan 1999; and

2) the Fischer-Ringo gravesite, location of the famous "Lady" statue and the spot where most paranormal researchers focus their attention as it seems to be a hotspot for paranormal/supernatural activity.

I hope to soon upload pics of the old mausoleum and its surrounding area, as well as the section known as "the pit", which are also of great interest to paranormal researchers investigating the cemetery. These images should be benefical to any researhers who need a visual aid to locate some of the primary areas to investigate on the cemetery grounds.

Me my brother and cousin from florida where driving up the hill next to the cemetery around 12 o clock at night. while driving my brother stops and a small female child in all white comes up to our car sorta a demonic look.. needless to say we drove off super quick.. worst experiance of my life.

well i live only 5 minutes from there i am 31 years old and have lived in ashland and the things that i have seen here are pretty strange and sometimes spooky like this place there is a nother tale that i myself had experianced like the statue that was carved from pictures of the woman thats grave it marks it is said that she travels the grave yard stopping and talking to other relative are aloso in the grave yard for a stunt with some friends of mine from high school we went to the grave yard to see if the story was true we set up at diffrent parts of the grave yard and meet back up in a hour and then we would talk about about it and each of us had something diffrent happen and marked the place that we had the experiance when we went back the next morning and got all info like if some thing happened at a grave a tomb and thing a checked about it welll everything was linked to her some how welll we kept on digging and found out that she was murderd and she always kept in good contact with the family

well i lived across the street from the side fence of the grave yard and about 5 or 6 times me and my girlfriend seen a dark figure walking around like it was lost then it would go behind this one head stone and vanish alot of strange stuff would happen at night in the year i lived in this house. me and my friend went looking for this figure we walked almost the whole graveyard and found nothing we took some pictures and later discovered there was tons of orbs in each photo we took about 20 photos in all

well i live in ashland to,actully not to far from the grave yard but i have not passed it enough to se anything happen yet.but i do BELIVE in ghosts!i have MANY encouners with ghosts and i mean some freakyencounters!like one time me and my mom droped my sister off at a friends house and when we left and drove down the road and there is an old house nd i looked out te window and a figure as in the window staring at me and no one lives there and the house is like 100 years old!(and by the way i am only 11)!

Me, my sister and a few friends were walking through the cemetary to go to Jr. Food Market when we were younger. We heard the same growling noise that was described above only when we look to see, it seemed to us that it was a warewolf, and I know that sounds stupid but thats what it looked like. It had glowing red eyes. Needless to say we all ran like little girls.

I have done a paranormal investigation at the Ashland Cemetery and we didn't encounter anything that was caught on video or on digital camera, however we did get several EVP's. Most sounded like children playing. We did hear a lot of banging and saw shadows that were proven to be the lighting that is there. A very good investigation with good documented proof.

I was born and have lived in Ashland most of my life. One night around 1am I was driving past the main entrance to the cemetery I saw a man dressed in all white and he was riding a white hore through the cemetery scared the crap out of me.

i go to the ashland,ky,cemtery all the nights and sometimes i got an uncle and grandmother,and one day i saw nothing at all,and that;s but my dad ahs a garden on high street,abd it;s is hanted one day my mother had died at home,and she had a small red car,i set in to drink a coke,and then i saw a lady who looked so old  she came right toward me there 's been  murded there,and i ain't never came back at all,my nanie said once to me stay away from evil,and i did.

one day my dad and his baby brother,went to the ashland,cemtery late at night

and dad said he heard something ,and then someone called out my dad,and his bro.james said i told you it was evil.and one day i went with my dad and i saw.cat

and it was black cat.and it follwed dad home,

and he said his garden was hanted. on high street.

they been a mudred there.

i have a  cousin and she said there home is hanted and the lights

go off on and they lived in ashlaand,ky.and they said noses goes on

there, and seen ahadows of her mother/they live close to the cemetry/

In the summer of 2009 me and my girlfriend was driving thru the Ashland cemetery and we would stop and get out and take some pictures. We didn't see anything with our eyes but we looked at the pictures and there was spirits sitting on the headstones and spirits walking hand in hand! It still gives me cold chills thinking about it!

I hate to admit it but I was homeless for months back in the mid to late 80's.  I used to sleep there at the "Iron Maiden" (Fischers' graves)  I hid my blanket & pillow in the hedges around her.  They used to be closer to her.  The only thing that I ever heard or saw was people with nothing else to do partying around there.  I felt very safe there.  Happy to say I am no longer homeless, have 3 kids, own a home & have a very good job now!  Once a year, I go back there just to thank her for keeping me safe & keeping me company during a bad time in my life.  Did I also mention that I am a sensitive now?

well im samantha meadows and my dad is john meadows and he has worked at this cemetary for 23 yrs he says he has never seen or heard anything ever!!!!! and i used to ride my bike in there and everything when i was a kid and never anything but i do bellieve in ghosts and i believe they can be anywhere at any time and there proly is some there but my dad doesnt believe in things like this so tht may b why he hasnt seen or heard anything

I've never had a supernatural experience at the Ashland Cemetery; however, my experience reading this forum was just as terrifying.

The posts on this forum make me truly ashamed to be from Ashland. I failed to see a single post that didn't read like it was written by a 10 year old telling a story that they had completely made up: terrible grammar, spelling, and punctuation - not to mention stories that were hardly believable.

These people just happen to be driving by the cemetery at midnight, and out of nowhere, they decide to just stop the car in the middle of the street? Then BAM! A SUPERNATURAL OCCURRENCE! How convenient.

How painful it was to see words and phrases like "hanted," "builded it," and my favorite - "warewolf" - (also, alerting readers to your ripe old age of 11 doesn't make your story more plausible to a coherent reader). If you're going to post on an already dubious and controversial subject, proofread your thoughts before posting them - (this thing does have a spell-checker, after all) - not only will others be better able to read your thoughts, but you won't look like a completely uneducated fool.

I, too, was a bit surprised at the comments in the forum.  Surely, these people don't actually converse in the manner in which they write.  Fortunately, accurate spelling is not a must in oration, but sentence structure, pronunciation and enunciation are.

There is a flag pole to the right when entering, last week coming home from work about 3;00am there were 3 very large and skinny figures standing side by side looking down at the ground I pulled over and watch for half an hour they never moved or swayed .Thought my mind was playing tricks on me but the next day I went back to the cemertary  but there is nothing there that even looks like the 3 figures I saw standing there
