GPS: 37.9092174, -92.2213815
WebSite: None

Located off DD hwy. just outside Crocker, if you go there between 11:50P.M. and 12:20 A.M. you will see a flash of light like a door opening and hear a baby crying and screams, then hear the mother crying for her child , all the while there are sets of evil looking red eyes in various spots around you. It was rumored that the woman was pregnant and while on a hiking trip fell into a ravine and that by time her rescuers got to her that she was already dead. Also the same location is rumored to be a gateway to hell.(WARNING: most people who go there and are brave enough to stay through the whole experience have some kind of Vehicle trouble upon trying to exit the hollow.(I.E.) flat tires mysterious claw marks on the vehicle, and even wrecks!!!)
Flagged as Urban Legend considering how many "Crybabys" there are in America.

i heard the story that it was a woman in a wagon with a baby coming home from a party and a snake or something spooked the horses and she and the baby fell out of the wagon and the horses trampled her and her child. you can here them screaming and crying in the woods. My mother spent the night in the hollow with some friends back in the 70's and she said they heard all kinds of things. personally i believe the story is true.

i have visited this exact location but inside of the cemetary which lies deeper into the woods after getting out of the car with my friends josh, and cody who had told me rumors. it must of been 2:00 in the morning when we arrived and didnt last a minute, i steped into the family plots (5 tomstones lay) and cody flashes his cellphone light to show me the names on the tombstone and in a random act i kicked the tombstone josh ina blink of an eye rushed back into codys truck. long story short the car had died a total of four times trying to get out of the woods but still had no functioning accessories meaning air conditioning car windows brakes, steering wheel began to fail, iv currently in indiana for over 13 years and still will never return to cry baby hollow, for those who really have had experinces know what i mean, for those who dont some stuff is best to be left alone.

I believe some building has been done since my visits, when no structures were present.

I had two separate encounters.

First encounter (1971 or 1972):

I was there with about 5 other people. It was shortly before midnight. We split up. Three went into the woods while my uncle and myself walked alone down the dirt road. We had no flashlights, the moon was full. Right before the dirt road veers to left to cross a creek bed, on the left there was an open field. We noticed movement to the right of us. To our surprise, there was a large dark shape which stopped when we did. Within seconds it moved quickly to the tree line and disappeared. Not wanting to encounter it again once the road crossed the creek and continued into the same tree line, I chose to return to the car. It is still not 12:00. My uncle decided to continue on. After several minutes passed, he comes running back to the car saying that something touched his head. He assumed it was a bat, however. The others had not returned yet. At slightly passed 12:00, the woods fell extremely silent. Earlier there were the sounds of crickets and normal night sounds. Out of the silence, the others came running out of the woods saying, "Let's go, let's get out of here". Apparently, when it turned silent, they heard rustling of leaves like someone walking toward them. We wanted to stay longer so refused. While safely in the car, we listened to the silence for the rumored baby cry. Nothing. Then sounding as from a distance, we heard something similar to a flock of birds, but it sounded strangely different, more like shrieking. It got louder and louder. It was so loud like it was right on top of the car. It scared us all so we decided to get the hell out of there. We drove down maybe a quarter of a mile when we noticed the sound had gone. Some needed to relieve themselves in the woods, so we stopped there. They weren't a minute out of the car when the sound began again coming from the Hollow's direction. Once everyone hopped into the car, we left that place. On the way back home, the car had a flat, just as this website noted. Odd.

Second Encounter (1974 maybe):

I was with my friend Jim. We were visiting from Minnesota to go to my Uncle's wedding. I told my friend of the Cry Baby Hollow haunting and my experience described above. He laughed at me and told me it was a bunch of crap. I dared him to go at midnight with me. He said no problem.

We arrived about 11:45 and parked the car. It was a typical night with normal night sounds as expected. At 12:00, nothing changed. Jim naturally started teasing me for believing in such nonsense. Just then from the noisy nightlife, dead silence. This caught even his attention. We sat listening to the silence. Shortly thereafter, a faint cry could be heard...like a child. Then silence. We looked at each other. He looked for the first time, frightened. The baby cry was louder this time. Quite chilling, then as if next to the car we heard leaves rustling as if someone were walking in the woods next to the car. Jim said, "Go, go, go". We sped away. We had no intention on meeting this grieving mother.
