Location Description:

Old Roswell Cemetery was originally the burial ground for the Mount Carmel Methodist Church, established in 1846. The church was a wooden structure and when it was expanded and moved, the burial ground opened to the public. It is still an active cemetery to this day. The church itself was situated on the highest point in the cemetery. In 1975, the name of the cemetery was changed to its current name. The earliest marked graves date to the 1840's.

This cemetery is the most active spot we have investigated, and is in fact the site of a portal. Phenomenon includes olfactory smells, touching, cold spots, phantom voices, et cetera. There appears to be residual haunting around where the church stood and we have picked up the sounds of footsteps on wooden floors long since gone. There is also interactive haunting which is most concentrated in the back of the cemetery along the fence row. We have found the spirits here to be open to communication. They are especially adept at working with the K-II EMF detectors and answer questions readily. They often take time to warm up to visitors, and it is recommended that when visiting you give them 30 minutes or so to check you out.

Members of  our group have been attacked in this cemetery and so we recommend investigating only with proper protection. Sensitives are especially cautioned as we have lost members of our group after investigating this location. Some of the spirits are VERY negative and since this is the location of a portal, you never know what you're getting into. This place rarely disappoints.

Any and all inquiries can be either addressed to myself at cawiggins78@yahoo.com or to Georgia State Paranormal through the website. We have provided this information for the benefit of other investigators in the area as not a lot has been written on the location. Please be respectful of the cemetery and the graves within! There are trash cans located by the road.....use them. Try to leave this location in better condition than you find it. We wrote a short synopsis on our website and you can also view a few photos and hear some EVPs from the location. The URL goes directly to our site.....

I lived right down the road in a condo, I visited the cemetery It was sad to see some of the head stones broken and not repaird..Is there a reason for that? Down by the Chattahoochee river you'll find an old mill that was used bye the rebel army have you guys investigated that?

I'm very curious about this cemetery and have been looking for more information about the portal you mentioned.  Where is it located and what, or who, travels through it?  I'm an investigator and have conducted investigations at the neighboring cemeteries.  I'm going to be at this location, soon, and I don't want to stumble upon something I may regret..
