Location Description:
Several years ago, I worked as a late night Disc Jockey on a Top 40 Radio Station servicing Southern Arizona. Calls would come in from all sorts of people during the witching hour, especially calls from security guards and delivery people. They would usually request songs but most often than not, they just wanted to talk to someone else who was up late at night with them. Several of those calls would come from the Old Pima County Courthouse in downtown Tucson. Most late night security guards working the graveyard shift watching the old court building, would call and complain that they dispised working the night shift at the courthouse because of all the paranormal activity they would experience while working at the couthouse. Most would see shadow people darting in and out of the hallways...Hear loud bangs and doors creaking open and closed. Loud screams and wailing would be a common occurence at the courthouse built in the old presidio area of downtown Tucson in 1929. The most troublesome part of the old courthouse building would usually be the morgue. Many a convicted murderer was sentenced there in the courthouse. Many would pass thru the corridors beneath the courthouse to the morgue. Several guards would actually be in tears to find themselves alone at any given time while their partner would secure another section of the courthouse property. My brother worked as a custodian for many years at the courthouse and has also got many hair-raising tales while cleaning the morgue and other areas of the building...Something he prefers to do during the early evening hours while other employees are still present. Placed on the National Registery of Historical Sites in Southern Arizona..The Pima County Courthouse in downtown Tucson will surely be a great point of discovery for any ghost hunting crew.
