GHOSTLAB. MY CREW HAVING HARD TIME FINDING OWNERS
Don't know but 12 of us were in there this past weekend and got alot of evps on voice record. Erie but not evil. They said my name and answered us quite a bit. When we go back were separating into groups and all bringing voice recorders.
Number one - It is in Saratoga County.
Both my parents were patients there. I remember going there to visit my Mom as a very young child. It is terribly run down. I believe the county owns the building and they can't tear it down because of the asbestos. I don't understand why they can't go in and clean it up and then tear it down. Probably lack of funds. So there it sits. I still know people that live in the area and people "visiting" are a real big problem. Youtube has some stuff on it. One of the videos showed pictures of what it used to look like. It brought back many memories of me visiting my Mom. It used to be a really nice place (beleive it or not). As far as it being haunted, ?????
Ok. So quite a bit of what I'm reading here, happens to be total crap. First of all, Tuberculosis CAN absolutely lay dormant in a building, and yes, FOR DECADES. ( www.blackhealthonline.com/Tuberculosis.html). Also, the homestead building itself, probably has not been torn down for a few reasons: A. there may be some kind of issue either contacting the individual who owns the building/property or the owner may not have given their permission for the building to be destroyed. B. The threat of TB still lingering within the building has caused an issue, since any part of the disease still in the building, would then be released into the surrounding area. C. The presence of asbestos in the building presents a very real health hazard and would also be released into the area the moment the structure of homestead began to collapse. In light of what I have just said, it is my best advice that if you absolutely must enter homestead for whatever reason, you wear a surgical face mask, and DO NOT touch the walls of the building. As far as Saratoga County Homestead being haunted, I honestly have not decided for myself yet. I have been there on 2 occasions, neither with a recorder or even a basic digital camera, so I have no eerie voices on tape or spooky ghost-like shadow pictures to share with anyone. I will say, however, that on both occasions, I felt very strange right before I entered the building..the second time I do remember actually getting chills that made me shiver to the point where my teeth began to chatter, even though it was warm outside and I was not frightened in the least; I was actually annoyed at the noise my teeth were making. I never noticed anything as far as a ghost inside the building and I did not hear anything strange, but what I did find rather unusual and macabre, were the dead crows. Now obviously a building as run-down and exposed to the elements as homestead, is going to have alot of animal trespassers, both mammal and bird. I never once however, saw any evidence of any other animal, except for many dead crows, on the lower 2 levels of the building. It was very odd, because they were laying almost the same distance apart along the longest center hallways on both those levels. I can't explain this. Crows tend to be a more athletic bird, that is very capable of navigating in both large and small places during the day and night, and certainly in a place like homestead, where there are several points of access left wide open- broken windows, missing doors, etc. Also, upon examining the crows, I saw no visible physical injuries- no blood, missing feathers- nothing. Why all these dead crows and ONLY crows? If someone has a valid explanation, I'd really like to hear it. Could crows be sensitive to asbestos or old TB? Thinking about it now, a few years later, this whole thing and the way their bodies were just laying there, really does creep me out. I don't know. I plan on going back at some point and properly documenting what I find, if anything, this time. I will once again warn anyone going into the building, WEAR A MASK, DON'T TOUCH THE WALLS, AND BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHERE YOU WALK, ESPECIALLY THE ROOF AREA.
