Location Description:         
 

The Holcomb Woods are located on Holcomb Road , just off of 199 near Bowling Green. As the legend goes, a bus full of children was traveling down Holcomb Road when the driver grew incredibly angry and steered the bus into the woods, taking out a bunch of small trees and coming to rest at a large one. The driver was killed on impact. It is on this tree that the driver`s face is seen. The bus burst into flames, killing all onboard. If you take Holcomb Road from 199 just past the edge of the woods, you`ll need to turn your vehicle to face 199. Shortly after you turn off your headlights, radio stations will scramble and cell phones will lose signals. A single headlight will come straight at you and suddenly disappear when it reaches the tree.

I have worked near holcomb woods for seven years and none of this is true. The only lights you will see is from a deputy sheriff's cruiser when the pull up to tell you to leave.

I went there back in 93 and stopped to party and a car came towards but one light was dimmer than the other. As it came closer we turned to get into our cars to leave, we started the car, as it grew nearer and the lights disappeared. But just the night before, a sheriff came and told us there was no such thing, we came back to investigate and this is what we saw.

okay, i just went to holcomb woods and i caught a creepy picture that made me want to leave the woods. i also got chased out by a truck.... in the picture there is a giant ball of light that was unexplainable none of us had flashlights the only light we did have was on the camera and there was nothing to reflect off of it.... this is the pic and you are going to see someone in the background, its my friend he took a pic off the computer from his iphone and sent it to me. i swear none of this is fake please message me my email is lilcheerlover07@yahoo.com and i will send you pics

The woods are indeed haunted and have been for many years. I live two roads away from where they are located. I went there with my friend and both our boyfriends late one night we'd been there 100's of times before and nothing happpened. we'd heard all the stories, and there have been many deaths like the bus of children and the murder of a man who was found hanging naked in the woods. We were in the car when a light came from the middle of the woods. The light was as big as a headlight. It danced around the trees coming at us. We started to leave when the light chased us down the road. The light came in to the car and passed through my boyfriends body. Then the light left the car and we took off. Shortly after this my boyfriend passed away, I don't blame it on the woods. R.I.P.

There is no record of the storied bus crash anywhere and I'm pretty sure thats something that would have made some news. I've been there countless times and never seen a single thing I'd say its complete crap.

Well you guys i had just moved to Ohio around that area my ex baby daddy and his sister took me through there the first time. It had rained that day and the road didn't seem that steep with the water. Well my ex's radio never worked so when we drove down there nothing happend but as we turned his radio went on to whats supposed to be a rap station but different music came on. So i freak the heck out. When we got home his car was filled with finger prints and as we walked in i wasn't scratching myself on my stomach and i noticed a huge scratch mark going across it. I told him i never wanted to go back but we did. When i returned there the second time i didn't really want to see anything so i closed my eyes and as we were driving down there i saw a little boy and little girl on a teeter totter. I opened my eyes and nothing happend but as i was getting home my head started hurting and i asked if we had any medicine then i went to the restroom and from what i know i was starring straight down not looking into his sisters eyes. The last thing i knew was that i was crying for three hours straight. They told me that some little girl was trying to hide from her dad and his sister took a pic of me sitting on the couch and beside this one girl i was sitting by was a man. True story though

I went there with like 10 friends 4 days ago. We went there, radio worked, most cell phones worked, the "lights" people see are just houses in the distance. We turned off our car lights, nothing happened. Nobody even came on the road for 20 minutes. We walked around and saw nothing written on the trees. Although, we did see a deer skeleton in the grass, and a horrid smelling animal stuffed in a bag. Which was a bit strange. Two friends went further north and before we left they ran back to us extremely fast claiming they heard somebody scream, they just wanted to get the heck outta there. That was our experience. There's honestly like nobody in Pemberville LOL

Thanks to the ass(s) that left 3 kittens alone there this past weekend to survive on their own. We went there, and the kittens approached us pratically starved to death. Omg.... I went in that woods, crazy stuff went down. We got out of our car, walked into the woods -2:00 am- and 3 minutes later, the lights on my car started to blink, and all the windows went down. I dont know why, but that wasnt even the bad part. As we got in to leave, we were out of gas and our back tire was slashed. This freaked everyone out. We all started to panic and ran to the nearest house which was just down the road from the woods. We got a ride home from there and went back in the morning to look at the car. When we got back into the car, it was full of gas, and the tire was fine. I dont know if someone was playing a joke on us or what happened but i know 100% that this woods is f$#%d up hardcore, and im never goin back ever.

I used to go to this place often, most times I never saw anything but it was just a very eerie feeling. But, one time when we went, we turned onto the road and just as we approached the wooded area we saw this white figure cross the road a short ways ahead of us. looked like someone in a white dress, but it was transparent. Weirdest thing I had ever seen.

my brother,sister in law and i went there about 4 days ago at 2 am and went down the road about three times and we all three got the feeling that we shouldn't be on that road and after that we was heading home on route 6 and this semi truck came out of nowhere. i don't know if what this truck drivers problem was but he or she was coming up on our car very fast and every time we would speed up the truck would speed up as well. finally we made it bowling green rd and got off that was some weird stuff

I go to BGSU and me and a couple of friends have been there several times last year. Not necessarily (sp?) believing in ghosts saw nothing. Although, we didnt see the famous headlights appear and disappear at the exact same time. that was kinda creepy. The only problem to actually having some credibility, is that we were very high. and being being stoned off our asses, could have just noticed a car's healights just turning onto the next street. I plan on going back as soon as summer as over and we return to school to see if anything happens Altough i have not researched this event thoroughly yet, i will. and as far as the deer, the second to last time my friends and i went to the woods, we saw another group of students there with a dead deer and a baseball bat in their trunk. they claimed to be doing a demonic sacrifice. i did go back about a week later to find the corpse brutally mangled and its head severed. I dont believe in ghosts or hauntings, but i want to, and that is half the fun. although i was high at the time i saw the headlights, my friends and i are still convinced that we did see something, whether it be a ghost of a bus or just a random car, i saw what i saw and i will research this event and continue to go into the woods for the fun and excitement of it.

and as far as the red glowing eyes seen, some animals have whats called "tapetum lucidum" that gives off a certain glow. as i said before, my research isnt complete yet, but it is 2:16 and i am doing what i can. for more info about the "tapetum lucidum" go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapetum_lucidum and for some pictures go to http://fireflyforest.net/firefly/2006/10/31/wild-animals-with-glowing-eyes/ so, the glowing red eyes that people have been seeing could have just been a rabbit or a deer or some other animal in the woods looking back at you.

okat me my friends and my boyfriend went down holcomb ummm...prob about a week or so ago, i dont remember the exact date. but on with my story, we were driving down the road and we saw nothing so we got out of the car and the driver went off so we were all by our selves. (btw, we did that on purpose). so we were out there for a long time, prob about 15 minutes. it seemed kanda scary, right?! wrong! your not going to be scared because there isnt aanyhting to be scared of! but the point is that we saw nothing!!! i was so excited too because that was my first time and i think everybody elses who i was with maybe besaides one person. we might of saw a light but we are preyy sure that it was a car coming.

My sister, my husband, and I visited Holcomb Road or Woods and to be honest we're not quite sure we believe the whole haunted thing but we did see something that caught our interest a little. We did as the legend says. we flashed the headlights three times and drove back down the road. Nothing happened. We drove down the road five times and repeated the steps each time finally on the last time down we saw a dim light shining out of the woods. It didn't chase us. it was just there.

I personally went there and didn't happen to experience anything too exciting, but my friends and I did see many dead animals. There bodies were all over the road, some new some old. I'm thinking people go there to sacrafic, but i'm not sure?

My husband and I just drove down that road like 5 minutes ago and guess what......nothing happened. same as the last 10million times that I have drove down that road.  Although I will admit that I have gotten an erie feeling many times before driving down that road.

I have heard that there is a face in a tree out in the woods. Does anyone know its location?

Also, I have seen the dear along the road.....um CREEPY. Why do people have to hurt animals. And I have NEVER heard of using a baseball bat for a religious sacrifice. WEIRD.

Go alone and I bet something will happen, I've been told that the KKK hung people in the trees that overhang the road.Yes it's true I've seen sh#t out there. I lived two miles from there for 15 years.It's been that many years since I've been there.Burns road is also haunted and at the other side of holcumb there use to be train tracks that you can see a man,women,and child walking with an old dim lamp.I've never saw that But I've saw other things out there.

went down that road two nights ago .......nothing to play around with. I went with my room mate and i will never go again. we turned off all the lights ...turned off the car and just let our eyes get ajusted to the DARK. this FEELING ...idk ..this feeling that i had around me was insane. I felt like someone was trying to push me in ...like something was wrapping around me ....NO IM NOT ON DRUGS NO I DO NOT DRINK ...I WAS SOBER AND METALLY SANE... lol it felt like someone was there ....my room mate said she saw eyes ...but i didnt see anything but lights and like everyone else said ....THE LIGHTS DISAPPERED. no joke ...not at all ...this feeling had to be fear or idk ..because i have never felt fear in my life. but this feeling of just staring in the dark and thinking your mind is seeing things is insane lol

I've been to Holcomb woods several times at night with my friends, never saw anything interesting except for the last time we went. After we got into the car and started driving away, I looked back to check for the ''bus headlights'' that supposedly come toward you and then mysteriously disappear. It turns out that after looking back I did see what looked exactly like headlights coming from behind us in the distance that seemed to get brighter as we went. I jokingly said it must be the haunted bus! The lights then vanished seconds later while we were watching them. Very strange. And no they weren't from near by houses! I'm not that dumb, I was quite aware of our suroundings.

i see alot of made up posts but some sound honest enough. Its true the most likely thing you will see is a sheriff telling you to go away, which i found out personally. Me and a few of my friends were out there tonight. Let me tell you, I will NEVER go back!!!! As we were driving down Holcomb rd, we saw what looked like a crashed bus off in the woods. We could also see tire tracks on the road. As we got closer, the bus seemed to vanish. So we parked the car and stared into the woods. We saw a fire off in the distance and we noticed a large group of people standing around it. They were all wearing large hooded masks. We also saw them decapitating a large animal. Just then, we heard a bunch of screams, as if from a group of small children. So we turned the car back on a peeled out of there. Just then, we saw a single headlight coming at us. We swerved the car and almost crashed. As we looked back, there was no evidence of a car at all. On the way home, none of the radio stations came in and none of our cell phones had service. When we got back to the house, there were fingerprints all over the windows and somehow, scratch marks all over my body. Wierd as f***. There were also 3 little kittens just roaming around our front yard. I believe with all my heart that this place is truly haunted..... PSYCH!!!!! We went there. Didnt see jack s***. And I think all of you who claim to have seen stuff are clearly as high as the guy that commented on here earlier.

i went there last night me and my friends shot a fire work off the woods went dead silent like the rain from the trees stopped fallin and then we walked down the road a bit and we heard some crazy a$$ screeee sound ran back to the car but he had to stay extra min we all had to pi$$ lol... where thinking about camping out in the woods with camaras and do some evp stuff wee might be crazy

I use to live in ohio. I grew up in a little town called Wayne about 10 minutes from holcomb. I use to go down holcomb and get high with friends until I was raped by Casper on that road. There is nothing friendly about that ghost.

Go down holcomb road from 199 right before midnight. Park by the first tree on the left. Get out of your car walk down the road counting the trees that align the road on the left hand side. When you get to number 57 stop in front of that tree. Exactley at midnight turn around in a circle counter clockwise three times and chant appear to me. The mans face will appear on that tree, then all sorts of crap will start happening, I promise you.  57 was how many died on that bus, it was also the 57th tree the bus hit. The last person died three minutes after the bus hit the tree.

me and my four friends with our own eyes saw a white orb following us at 75 mph and right as we left the woods a bus passed us and vanished as it entered the woods. dead serious!

Well heres what guys. As much as I've loved hearing the stories over the years, I'm gonna have to bust your bubble and tell you that my grandparents (who are no longer living) made this story up about the school bus crash so their daughters would quit going out there "parkin" with their boyfriends. They had seven kids and told them all the same story. the kids told their friends and their friends told thier friends and so on. My grandparents thought it was absolutely halarious how far this thing got taken and how many more stories were added. like the naked man hanging himself etc. you can here tons and tons of echos from 199 and wayne road if your standing in the woods. and that woods is hunted at night for coons and coon hunters wear a headlight WITH ONE LIGHT. You see red tail lights NOT EYES from the surrounding roads and as for the dead, headless gutted deer everyone sees out there it's from careless hunters who throw their carcus junk out there cause it's a less travelled road and it adds to the scare that everyone believes. My grandparents, parents, and I all grew up right there and I still live about 3 minutes from that section of the woods and we ride our fourwheelers out there and through there all the time and NOTHING scary has ever happened to us. It's all in what you believe your seeing. I know my grandparents are in heaven giggling about this little story they made up and seeing how far people have really taken it.

When my family and I went there some of us got out of the car and walked down the road, one of my family members was trying to talk to the bus driver's ghost and antaganize it to get it to come out. the whole time we were there we saw these wierd lights, almost like lightning bugs except they were white and while my family member was talking to it saying things like "come out you coward!" one of those lights was circling around him flashing.

People are stupid. i just got back from there and that place was creepy as f*ck. whether it's haunted or not its pitch black and narrow as hel! we drove down the road and then turned around and went back down it and stopped in the middle of the trees. first we rolled down the windows (nobody would get out) and we saw a little kitten sitting on a tree stump. i had been looking behind us to make sure nobody turned down on the road. i looked away for a second when one of the girls in the backseat yelled theres a car coming. i hadnt came from the road though. i at first thought it was somebody doing the same thing as us. but i was going like 55 and this guy was coming up on me fast as heck, he had to have been goin at least 70. so i turn down a road and the car disappeared. when i turned back around to drive past the road the car was all the way back down the road facing towards us like it was waiting for us. Creepy as fuuuuu*kkkkkkkk. deffinatly goin back there again.

my boyfriend and a few of our friends went last night. i was already creeped out just by the look of the woods. it was my first time being there. but mu boyfriend has been there a few times. some minor stuff happened to him and his friends before. but this time nothing happened. we flashed our head lights 3 times rolled down the windows and even honked. nothing. there are skid marks from tired on the rode and a big open into the woods after the tire marks stop. its a scary expierence either way.

  Finally, after all the stories about this place we have footage. My daughter and her friends went there this past weekend without my permission i might say. But i'm not a big believer in ghost, but with today technology i am a believer now. She had her ipad touch recording the whole thing. A big headlight just appeared on the road out of nowhere. Then the light disappeared, when it appeared again it was like 10ft away from there truck and you can see the image of a woman inside the light. Its not clear but you can see something inside the lights. But thats not the worst, on the side of the light you can see something like a demon or i don't know what it was, looking right at them. I a firm believer in God and i believe there is evil spirits lerking around that area. I even heard of witchcraft and devil worshipping people lived there. The video will be postd on youtube after we get the copywrites, cause this video will prove that Holcomb Woods is really haunted and i pray that someone with a strong faith in God will go pray over that land so whatever souls is lerking around that area can rest in peace. I advise no one to go there, its not bout being haunted but from what i saw it is very demonic.

My niece and I went there 2 nights ago around 2:00 am. There is something in the woods. We took pictures, got all kinds of orbs and lights (not dust) and got got some EVPs. Went back tonight and got more pics of orbs and got a name on my recorder, Ashley. Also you know what ticks me off? When people say..oh its a hoax, nothing happened to us. Well just cause nothing happened to you, doesn't mean there is nothing there.

My friend lives right by Holcomb and at night they go in the woods and mess with people like you guys... Not haunted those logs getting moved and the lights is a bunch of drunk teenagers watching people get scared
