Eastern State is haunted by hundreds of prisoners that have been executed, beaten to death, or committed suicide. The most famous sighting is of a prisoner that killed 27 people in an attempted prison break. Reports of feelings of someone there, and dread, strange sounds and shadows or apparitions.

LockportExport Last Seen: 1/16/2008 8:08:13 PM	This place is insane. I have been in Eastern State 3 times and everytime its just as hard to walk through there. Overwhelming feelings of dread and anger surround you at all times. Its an intense place. A must see when in Philadelphia.

AnonymousVisiter ** -	They used this place in "12 Monkeys" it's the mental ward where Pitt meets Willis. It has a very well designed floor plan (allowing minimal guards to see maximum prison.). the size and acoustics of the cells coupled with the utter silence of the place caused a lot of men to go insane in the early years; when extended, quiet contemplation of ones actions was thought to be "good for the soul" and a humane method of criminal rehabilitation.

CO.Unexplained.Investigators Online Now!	We went there just for a tour of the place and of course being the ghost hunter I am. I had all my equipment rolling. We had my video, audio and digital camera all going. We didn't really catch a lot of video it was just my sister and I. I am planning on going up and paying for an over night ghost hunt. i just know we are going to catch awesome stuff.

Brittani Hammaker GH Last Seen: 5/11/2010 3:27:38 PM	I have been there both for pleasure and investigating. I work with professionals. There is no tresspassing on this place. You have to go with a tour group now. We have caught many great things. I have almost the same shawdow man that T.A.P.S caught when they were there but on the first floor. We heard really weird noises and actually caught a conversation between what we think are two inmates planning there excape.

AnonymousVisiter	Ive been there once for the "Terror Behind the Walls" Halloween event and once for the regular day time tour. I find the place more creepy on its own without the Halloween show. Going through on the tour you're with a group and its during the day, so its not really scary. One thing weird did happen on the tour though; we were walking around the boiler room or basement or somewhere and it was chilly like any basement would be...but all of a sudden there came a wisp of cold air and my friend took a picture right at that time and there was mist or dirt or something kind of swirling around us...there were no windows, no air conditioning or vent. That was defiantly weird. They do have one option during the Halloween event...you can do this thing where they send you through the prison by yourself. Instead of going through with a group of people you have to walk the corridors alone....now THAT I dont think I'd do lol
