Description:
Coulterville RoadAt the bottom of Coulterville Road, when you must make a 90degree right turn, is where strange activity has occurred. If you turn up Eighth Street and made a left at the top of that street and continue down to the end, there is an old church and a small cemetery. You can hear footsteps and children and see figures out of your rearview mirror.

Haven't experienced Coulter in a few years... but when I was in high school (circa 6-7 years ago) my friends and I had our "ghost hunting adventures" and Coulter was the only place where anything ever happened; and freaked me out for quite some time. First of all, most of the residents on the turnaround road (mentioned on a previous post) just look and stare when they see unfamiliar vehicles/people. Second there is definitely a burnt down building in the woods rumored to be an orphanage. It is near a cemetery that also resides in the woods. And last, when my friends and I were there late one night we heard children playing in the distance. To be brief, over the period of slightly less than an hour the playful sounds of children transitioned into screaming. This screaming was not the sound of a child who got unsuspectingly caught in a game of tag; but was continuous horrific screaming of multiple children. Freaked me out for quite some time, also decided to stop screwin' with supernatural/ghost things.

Well the most horrifying ghost hunt I ever went on was on the 13th bend of that Coulterville rd. There was 3 of use in my freind sarahs car. I was driveing and sarah and kim were in the back seat. Sarah saw a ball of green light moveing towards us from the woods. Then kim started screaming to drive. I didnt see anything but kim and sarah both insisted they saw something. we were driveing down the road and I noticed red marks on kims face. We pulled over and relized they were welts. She had welts on her face, chest, stomache, inner and outer thighs, back and back of her legs. Sarah was with kim and said there was no way that kim could have done that to herself. The welts were long and in pairs of 4 like she was clawed. I went onto the taps website and looked for some insite on this. Well the part under "Demonology 101" pretty much described it to a t. So if anybody decides to go there its pretty freaky and on top of it out of all the supernatural forces out there the demonic presences are the most serious"think The Exorcist". Believe me or not that rd is evil.

if you do end up deciding to go there is dont really think its the ghost children you have to worry about. i have made several trips out there with different frieds seeign as how it is just down the road. around here its probably the most haunted place that is easily accessed. i have heard things in the woods and the cemetary but i have to say the scariest thing i encountered while in coulter was a red tow truck that pulled up behind my friend's parked car while we were in the cemetary. it parked behind her and when we heard someone get out of the truck me and three of my friends ducked into the woods and started making our way back towards the car. when we got into the car and took off, we heard someone come out of the woods after us and hurry into the pickup. it followed us onto a turnaround road and kept following us til we finally pulled over when we were far enough away, turned off the car and ducked down. we saw the truck pass us, and we sped out of coulter back towards lincoln way. when my friend dropped me off that night i saw the red pickup drive psat my driveway. and when i heard about a similar experience my friend had i looked it up and found several stories about the red truck in coulter chasing people.

im not sure about a red tow truck chasing any one. ive been to this church before, it is creepy no doubt. me and my freinds have all gone on our ghost trips down there in my freinds mercury. we have had our experiances. but we have never been chased around by a red tow truck. i do know of this tow truck tho. we have seen it on a road in coulter at a small "farm house". it sits in a small carport/ shed on a side road furhter into coulter. its creepy. when me and my freinds saw it, there was a figure with what looked to be a shot gun sitting in the truck.

this is a joke! coulter is NOT haunted and if you are being haunted it's because you shouldn't be down there!! leave the cemeteries alone! most of my family is buried there and we don't need idiots like you walking all over our loved one's graves or disrespecting them by vandalizing the cemeteries. have a little respect!

I agree with the people on here...yes I have been here but I have have gotten permission to be there...those that are vandilizing...DON'T BE DISRESPECTFUL. Oh and it most definetly is haunted, just not to the point that it is worth it to make the trip.

okay my family owns the church and the old orphanage. my four greats grandfather built both the church that's still there and the orphanage that COLLAPSED not burned. not so long ago. it is not haunted, there's no demons and anyone that thinks that and goes there is obviously trespassing because there is no way in hell my family allowed anyone to be there. dont over turn tombstones cause you're not going to find anything. get a life and find some other place to vandalize. k thanks

I don't think we go over to the church or the orphanage...just the cemetery up there...we definitely got permission, why would I lie about that? and we are always respectful when we go up there we won't even step near the tombstones. I completely agree with you that there are no demons but the graveyard defintely has a few spirits there...I'm part of a paranormal investigation team so I'm not going there to vandalize. I go to places as a professional and do my best to not disturb/ruin anything and ALWAYS ASK PERMISSION FROM OWNERS. JUST TO CLARIFY...NEVER HAS OUR TEAM VANDALIZED ANYTHING...THERE IS NO REASON TO VANDALIZE!!

we did the same thing in 1994.  13 bends, haunted cemetary, orphanage,  what about the flag that stands still?  Its funny cause its like a right of passage in the early years of high school.  It turns out its just a quiet little town.  Lets keep it that way.

Just because we go down there to get scared doesn't make us vandals. Now, last time i went i heard church bells ring at 1 in the morning. And a little boy crying on the inside. And i have lived right by Coulter for 16 years. The North Huntingdon police even say, if u dont believe its haunted, your wrong.

People I lived in Coulter until I was 24 years old and have been back numerous times Hunting and Fishing with Friends and believe me the town is not haunted we used to party in those cemetaries and went to church in that little catholic church. Coulter is a quite town where most residents have live all there life. My father lived there 95 years and he never saw a ghost!!. As far as the red truck I bet you did see one as you were probably tresspassing and you are lucky this person just chased you out when I lived there we would have blocked your way only one way in and out!! and probably gave you a little butt whooping and I gurantee you would not have been back. Leave the cemetaries alone I and they have family burried there and it just pisses us off the disrespect you show our loved ones.

Me and my friends used to play basketball in the evening/night down at the little park by the firestation (if my memory serves me right) in Coulterville...never had anything scare us except the one time the train came flying past and someone must have put something on the train tracks that popped.  Otherwise, it's a peaceful town...
