Location Description:

This tunnel was built in the early 1920's and is one of the most famous haunted places in our area. Mr. Sensabaugh is told to have killed his entire family in the stream that runs through the tunnel, and now it is said you can hear his baby's voice crying and legend tells you can see all types of orbs and figures, also it is said that a women and her child was in a bad storm and pulled off into the tunnel to get shelter and the next day they found the body's of the two dead and now it is said if you pull your car into the tunnel and shut the engine down it will not start.

The only thing in the tunnel is water sometimes and a lot of graffiti on the tunnel walls. Teenagers like to go there and get drunk and think the things they have heard about it are real. However it is worth a look for the history of it.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	The tunnel that people drive threw isn't the tunnel you are looking for. before you get to that tunnel there is a smaller tunnel off to the left in a dip in the road. water is running threw this tunnel and no cars have been threw this tunnel in several years. I have been to this tunnel and have experienced voices while walking threw the tunnel. The way the voices sounded it was like people were at the other end of the tunnel but when reaching the end no one was to be found. I also went while i was pregnant with a couple of friends to walk threw it and i kept feeling something poking my stomach on the side when i confronted the group i was with and told them you're not to scare a pregnant women they all denied the aligations and stated maybe they should get me out of there before something happened. i highly recommend you find the smaller tunnel in which it really happened and experience it for yourself.

AnonymousVisiter * US	I have been to that tunnel many a time and me and my friends were parked in the middle of the tunnel, parked there for about 10 minutes maybe and we started the car back up and nothing happened, except the fact that we had heard a car sounded like it was coming towards us. AnonymousVisiter * US	If you can drive through the tunnel, you are at the wrong tunnel. The haunted tunnel is further up the road, adjacent to the river/creek, off to the side of the road, under the train tracks. It is only accessible by foot, and it is truly terrifying. [ 75.176.61.239]

AnonymousVisiter E US	I have been to this tunnel and it is truly terrifying. Myself and a group of friends are always going to different places and this was the most scary place we`ve been. While standing in the tunnel with all the lights off and it being pitch black it looked like there was something right in front of my face when there was absolutly nothing there. Also you can hear, what I can only describe as an argument between a man and woman, but you can`t tell whats being said, only that they are mad and screaming. You can also see a shadowy figure walking down the middle of the tunnel from the direction of the house where the murders occured. It is truly a very scary place!

AnonymousVisiter R US	It`s just a old tale the people who used to live there told, so the people from kingsport would not come to the tunnel and park in it. They would climb up to the top of the tunnel and when cars drove in they would scream and cry "like a baby". Anybody who says they see anything like ghost are just crazy, and want to think they see it!

AnonymousVisiter S US	Please read the previous post regarding the tunnel. The REAL tunnel is not accessible by car. Most people mistake the tunnel on the road for Sensabaugh Tunnel. That is NOT the haunted tunnel. The real tunnel is off the road and must be entered on foot.

The funny thing was, after the story was over, I raised my hand and told the teacher that the house beside the tunnel (the one of the supposed family) was actually my uncle's house. The Sensabaugh family were my relatives on my Dad's side. Kinda funny because my teacher was mostly speechless at that point and didn't know how to proceed! :) I've been through there many times as a child, there's nothing supernatural there.

AnonymousVisiter K US	At this point, I have not yet been through the old tunnel, so I cannot say yeah or neah to whether or not there is anything to the legend, but I will add my two cents worth ... not everyone will have the opportunity to see or hear something supernatural, and some may see or hear something and because of what they were trained to believe is possible or not, may choose to believe that they hadn't experienced anything but maybe their eyes playing tricks on them. If you are at all interested in exploring the possibilities of hauntings and the supernatural, you must first have an open mind. That is not saying you have to be gullable, you have to be a skeptic at the same time. In this way, if you believe you have seen or heard something, and you have exhausted all means to feasably explain it, then you just might have experienced something supernatural.

AnonymousVisiter S US	I went today, at about 4pm. I didn't much like it cause it was dark like a tunnel, and I read stories about it last night. My youngest 3 (one boy, 7, and two girls, 5 and 4) wemt all the way through it. My 9 yr old son, stopped halfway. I don't know if I could go at all at night, and certainly not without lights. I am a christian, and don't know if I would ever see anything, because of that.

dalassbabe Last Seen: 9/20/2008 1:22:19 PM	ok here it is. we just movied into the area and where taken to the walk through and drive through tunnels last night. in the walk throught tunnel my daughter was touched on the face. in the drive throght tunnel we parked in the middle and turned out our lights. my chest got very tight and i thought i seen some type of shadow walk in front of us at the end of the tunnel, but what was weird was that we seen feet and legs but no body. i dont know what it was but i enjoyed the tunnels very much.

We heard baby's crying n people arguing..we also took pictures n their were orbs floating in the air!!! You can also see shadows at the end of the tunnel but we made it all the way through! We did turn the car off n put it in nuetral and the car rolled backwards!!! Its some pretty creepy stuff you shud try it!!!

AnonymousVisiter T US	The tunnel that you drive through is CLICK Tunnel, not Sensabaugh Tunnel. So for those of you who are driving through a tunnel, the story that is attached to that tunnel is that a hobo killed a baby he stole from a local family after being caught by the father, and chased away. (The hobo used the baby as a human shield from a gun). Once he got away from the father, the hobo didn't know what to do with the baby and killed it in the creek near by. Sensabaugh tunnel is where Mr. Sensabaugh is alleged to kill his family, and then taking his own life. I just returned from this tunnel. There are voices in the tunnel, but the further you walk in, the less you hear of them, and the more the water drowns out any sound. But the tunnel that has the creek running through it seems to have some form of activity ... not sure who. I have EVPs there of a man saying "Sebastian" and what sounds like a grunt from maybe a child. Now as for the drive through tunnel I have never seen or heard anything. the third tunnel seems to be lightly active but it dangerous to go due to the train still runns through it and there is not much room inside the tunnel for more than just the train. however there were 7 men that died there during an explosion while building the tunnel. There bodies (of what was left of them) were burried near the tracks as were anyone that past there while that construction of the rail road was underway. there are pics of two of the tunnels on our MySpace page...under Bristol Paranormal.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I've heard about this tunnel. Though, aren't there TWO OTHER tunnels in the area? Another ya drive through and one more in the woods where ya can ONLY WALK THROUGH? Are these tunnels in Church Hill or Kingsport? First I heard Kingsport, then, Church Hill. Someone I work with, just LAST NIGHT, Nov. 24th, showed pictures to me of one of the tunnels ya drive through. There were a few pictures. The LAST picture, in the top right corner, there was SOMETHING in the possible shape of a BABY, and a few orbs around it. If someone will tell me the EXACT locations of these tunnels, including the one ya WALK THROUGH, I'm plannin' on goin' within the next few weeks. And, they're ALL Sensabaugh Tunnels? I just wanna be sure. I'm mesmerized by the paranormal. Not into evil by any means, whatsoever, just the paranormal, such as ghosts and spirits.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	to anonymous that got chased by the ''gang banger'' in july,that was me!boo! i went to check it out and some kids a lil younger than me were there.i walked through with like 4 of the dudes and when we got to the other side i went to pee and they all ran back to there cars and took off.i thought you guys stole gas from my suv and thats why i chased you.after thinking about it, maybe i just forgot to fill up, but i swear i had gas in the tank. i go back sometimes and i hear a swoosh from the middleof the tunnel,like wind going past but just the sound of it,no breeze.its pretty loud,like maybe a car passing but you can see the road but its not loud enough to be a train.whatever it is is in the tunnel and goes from the far side towards the road.also on the far side,10 feet to the left of the exit there is small opening to a cave where ice cold air rushes out.

I heard the stories from old timers and the first thing is the tunnel you drive through is sensabaugh tunnel. I have heard the baby crying and seen a shadowy figure but some of the thing's i'm reading on here are not in the original story. That just show's you how a story changes over time.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	If you come to Kingsport on 11w you just stay on till you pass Wal Mart on your right, you will go down a hill and cross the river bridge. You need to be in the left lane and you will make a left turn at the red light onto Netherland Inn Road. Then just before you get to the bridge you will make another left on Big Elm Rd. You stay on this road and keep to the right until you come to a sharp right hand curve and they will be a small road on your left, turn down it and it will take you through the tunnel.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I have been to the Sensabaugh Tunnel on numerous occasions. This place is very scary and I do believe that it is haunted, but not by a baby or Mr. Sensabaugh. The land that this place is built on use to be the dumping grounds for Joshua Phipps "man who lived in the Rotherwood Mansion" slaves, He would beat them to death and dump them there. Also 7 men were killed during the construction of this tunnel, the common practice for that day in time was to burry the migrant workers in or along side of the construction site. These storied have been proven as fact. The tunnel is very neat to go to, very eery. My investigating team S & A Paranormal will be going there again soon. AnonymousVisiter ** US	I know where both tunnels are. I used to live on one side of the tunnel that you drove through. We always called that one the Sensabaugh tunnel, since it is in Sensabuagh Hollow. The other one I never knew had a name. It is on Big Elm Road. I lived in the big farm house from the time I was five until it burned when I was 10 years old. Then we moved back years later. My brothers and I used to play in the water that ran through the tunnel. I was never anything, but of course I was never in the tunnel after dark. The people that live on the other side of the tunnel are good people and would never hurt anyone. If you hear anything in the tunnel, it is probably the train that runs across the top. As for things you are seeing, I have no idea, Maybe your eyes are playing tricks on you!

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I did not believe in ghosts till I went to the tunnel. I have been twice and I will not go back even if someone paid me. The first time I went with my friends and I was mainly going to prove to them that there was nothing there. We parked and walked to the entrance and everyone kept saying they heard something and I dimissed the noises as a dog or other animal in the woods. Then to mess with them I taunted the supposed ghosts. Thats when we saw a glowing figure appear at the end of the tunnel on the left side. We all saw it at the same time and took off running for the car. After we calmed down, we decided to drive in and park to see if it was real. After we drove to the middle of the tunnel and rolled the windows down and cut the car off, we waited. Thats when we heard footsteps walking and the back window fogged up. I started the car, which made a weird noise and I put it into drive and hit the gas but the car would not go. After about 30 seconds, the car finally went and we drove off. We decided to go back just because we wanted validation because I was still not convinced. This was even worse. The minute I turned onto the road that led to the tunnel we all started feeling sick. There was fog and the closer we got the worse we felt. I just kept feeling like we shouldnt be there and something wasnt right. But I didnt want to look like a chicken so I kept driving. The minute I got to the tunnel I put the car in park and thats when I started freaking out because I couldnt do anything. I started crying and couldnt breathe. I felt so bad and thought I was going to die. My left shoulder became ice cold and numb and I was convinced that something very bad was going to happen and we needed to leave now.I was filled with sheer terror. But I could not move. That when my friend moved me out of the way and got behind the wheel and put the car in reverse and drove us out of there. The minute we started driving away, I immediately started to feeling better but I felt so tired and exhausted. We pulled into a parking lot and got out and thats when we noticed the drivers side window which was fogged up and had 2 large handprints. We were all freaked out and we swore we will never go back. There is something very evil there. I have been reading all the experiences that people have posted and I have yet to find anyone that has experienced this. I dont understand what happened and why it happened to me. I know it sounds ridiculous but it was the scariest experience of my life. I just wish I could find out what it was.

And the story about turning your engine off & then trying to turn it back on only having it not start... is certainly not true. Also someone I went with claimed that someone was hung from the top and if you stop you can hear scratches on your roof, which also isn't true.

ghost hunter 57 Last Seen: 12/14/2009 8:45:27 AM	the tunnel was dark it was very wet at most parts we ended up getting orb related type stuff and figures my group went there we heard a voice saying "dada" and we saw a figure of the face it was incredible we also found ribs in the river but did not know where they came from it was great but mostley orbs related stuff and fog "mist" realated

AnonymousVisiter ** US	My girlfriend and I have been with our friends a few times...and in each tunnel we have seen and heard things. If you don't think it is haunted you are insane. I have never experienced anything like this before, I went from not believeing in ghost and things but, I def. believe now. You need to go, you won't forget it.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	My friends and I went into the Click Tunnel, the one that you can walk through, and it was absolutely terrifying. I had never heard any of the legends about it until my friend told me as we were leaving, so I know I wasn't making myself hear things based upon what I knew. I remained closer to the entrance and middle the entire time, but I most definitely heard voices at the other end of the tunnel. The walls were soaking wet, and the ceiling was dripping, adding to my timidity. I could hear footsteps through the shallow water that started at the far end of the cave, but I never saw anyone thank God. If you are into paranormal stuff, you should definitely check it out, but if you are as easily scared as me, I wouldn't reccommend it. I will never go back..br.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	the one that people are calling click tunnel is said to be the "real" sensabaugh tunnell. but i have lived in kingsport for 30 yrs. my whole life and as a teenager me and my boyfriend would go there every night and back his car down in the tunnell. however u cannot get all the way through u can gat about half way without 4 wheel drive. anyway he and i backed down in that tunnell every night and i do not recall ever experiencing anything at all. we did occasionally hear things that were out of the ordinary, most of which could have very well been echos that came through the valley on both ends of the tunnel. things we would hear were things like a rock falling or what seemed to be someone or something walking through the water but never anything that scared us enough to leave or really question what was that.but the other one i have always heard different stories and i have had a few odd experiences in there but none that i can say were relevent enough to post about.

AnonymousVisiter	when i went to the "click tunnel" i hadn't heard many of the myths that people say about it, but i went with some people that had been before, they told me what to do and maybe what to expect, but i NEVER thought it would really happen to me. my jacket hood was jerked where i stumbled, and the glass ball on my necklace was rocked all the way across my chest.. it was definataly a scary experience!!! but i will DEFINATELY be going back!!! :))
