Location Description:

The old Donelson Hospital was one of the oldest hospitals in Nashville until it closed down over a decade ago. It is now used for storage for current hospitals and doctor's offices. It has been reported by various people who have had to enter the hospital for supplies that at anytime, day or night, once the doors close behind you numerous screams and moans can be heard as well as footsteps and clanging on the walls. Once you get closer to the old psych ward high energy can be felt and extreme chills even in the middle of summer with no air conditioning running throughout the building.

My Best friends dad is working on the hospital right now and when you go downstairs there is a tunnel from the hospital to the morgue going under the city...As I walked through the tunnel I could hear footsteps and soft screams throughout the tunnel...As we came out of the tunnel back in the hospital we decided to visit the psych ward...we couldn't breath and we heard someone talking to us in distinct words about their mother jane and how she has cancer...at that point we ran for our lives

It's on Lebanon Road leaving Nashville. It's a corporate complex now though. You're not likely to gain entrance.

You are all full of it.There is no tunnel from the hospital to the morgue or anyplace else. I am a maintenance tech for donelson corporate center, which is what the hospital was converted to.I have access to original documents and blueprints and have studied them thoroughly. Some of the areas you all are talking about do not currently exist, nor did they ever exist. If you dont know what you are talking about dont post. If you think you can prove any of this contact me@ bjhaycraft@yahoo.com I have unlimited access to all areas of all buildings.

I worked 3rd shift for one of the companies that rents the building.   It's definitely weird, creepy, and your mind can play tricks on you.  There are stories that the Ops dept tells, but I've never actually seen anything.  One night I heard laughter though and I was there by myself.

If it was still housing any patient information as before for doctor's offices, etc, then it would be a HIPPAA violation (a federal, patient privacy law) so I do not see how anyone (like the person above who went there when their friend's dad was working there...) would be able to roam freely without being thrown out! Perhaps the former medical facilities that previously owned the building need to be contacted since obviously patient's privacy and information such as social security numbers, etc can be accessed that easily by random people wandering the building for no apparent resaon than to look for ghosts.

I read some of these comments and I too can say they are un-true. I work for HCA and we actually worked in that building. I worked there for about 1 year before we moved to another location. You are not allowed in that building if you are not an employee. For those of you trying to gain entrance... sorry you might as well forget it. I never saw anything or heard anything however I can say that place is the creepiest place after hours. I hated having to work late when there was only a hand full of people there. Yes you would always feel like someone is watching you and you would get the cold spots all the time. Having some nights feeling like someone is breathing on your neck is not cool... but I never heard or saw anything like I said.

You were never and are never going to be able to access the building. Sorry guys.

I grew up in Donelson, TN and had 3 children at Donelson Hospital.  It was built in 1970 and it is not near downtown Nashville.  It closed in the 1990's when Summit Hospital opened nearby in Hermitage, TN.  I remember being a teenager when Donelson Hospital was built and I was friends with a girl whose father was one of the founders of the hospital.  The person who posted that it was now a Corporate center is correct.  I drove past it just last week.  .br..br.Here's a quote from Summit Hospital's history:.br..br..span id="spanMainContent"..p.In the late 1960s, a group of physicians led by surgeon Carl Gessler, M.D., created an alternative to downtown Nashville hospitals that would provide convenient emergency care and the best in diagnostic testing and treatment for their community. To reach their goal, they began working with the newly formed Hospital Corporation of America. Their dream became reality with the 1970 opening of Donelson Hospital...p. .p.Originally a 100-bed facility, Donelson Hospital expanded numerous times in its 21-year history to continuously meet the healthcare needs of our growing service area. The construction and 1994 opening of the new Summit Medical Center was the fruition of the founding doctors' vision. Today, the 188-bed Summit Medical Center stands as a tribute to the proud and successful history of Donelson Hospital...p...span..br.

Ok, the old hospital downtown wasn't the old donelson hospital. That was the old  metro general hospital. The old donelson hospital buidlings are on Lebanon road in Donelson, not downtown right past the YMCA going away from downtown. I know because I work in those buildings right now.

Obviously it's the old Nashville General Hospital. Several of the old buildings have been demolished and the others are being remodeled. The old Donelson Hospital did not have tunnels or a psych ward.

That hospital was the place where ALOT of people with aids died back in the early 80's when no one knew or cared about aids, im sure there are tons of tragic stories connected to that place and the untold numbers of people who died there . i know because i had more than one friend that died there in the 80's

I've sadly never experienced anything.  I'm here everyday and have yet to hear any phantom screams/moans or experience any weird feelings.  The basement is eerie though, according to my supervisor it housed the morgue.  I've ventured down there once and the only thing creepy was the apperance, no feelings or anything.
