Location Description:

This was partially paved over with a road. It is said ghosts appear to be crossing that section of the road at night. February 2004 Correction: The proper name of the "Old Town Cemetery" in San Diego is "El Campo Santo Cemetery." Among the numerous other spirits sighted at the location (including the paved portions under the adjacent sidewalk and streets), psychics claim that the site is to this day overseen by the spirit of the gravedigger whose own grave is near the cemetery`s SE corner.

if this is the same cemetery im thinking of, theres a headstone in one back corner that points outside the cemetery grounds. according to the headstone, the man was too evil to be buried on holy ground, so they buried him right outside the wall

The cemetery was founded in 1849. It is the final resting place of many of the original settlers of San Diego. There is a legend that I  have heard about this cemetery. It is said that on June 15th every even year, a pink apparition of a woman appears in the cemetery and cries at one of the head stones. There is also a neighborhood adjacent to the cemetery in which many of the homes experience moderate poltergeist activity.

My previous comment is incorrect about the pink ghost in the cemetery. I was thinking of a different cemetery. The rest of the comment is correct :)

I have been here many times. Probably one of the least intimidating cemetaries ever, but the place still feels a little uneasy. Ive seen one of the wooden headstones in the back moving back and forth on its own, as if someone was wiggling it. Theres also stories of people taking pictures of the graves that have fences around them, and getting a picture of someone laying on the grave

This cemetary has alot around it to include both commercial and residential occupancies.  Further, people in this area have always told of strange occurances sucha as unknown sounds and lights turning off on their own.  And there are graves outside the actual cemetary, but municipalities are more to blame for that.

I was just at this cemetary. I cant beleive the wooden head stone held up so long. I love the epitaths that are displayed here they say exactly how some of the people died. It was quaint not scary at all.

I love this cemetery. I love Old Town San Diego in general, but this cemetery interests me. I have never personally experienced anything out of the ordinary here, but friends that I have visited with have claimed to see white figures and shadows wandering amongst the fenced off grave sites. It's always odd to see the small grave site markers in the middle of the sidewalk and street in front of the cemetery.
