All rights reserved.West Stockbridge Marble Quarry59017West Stockbridge, MA<FONT size=5>There is an old marble quarry in West Stockbridge off the west stockbridge sportsmens club road, the quarry is down a path that runs parralell to what I believe is Williams River.&nbsp; The quarry has 200ft white cliffs and a water filled pit that is about 200ft deep.&nbsp; At the bottom of the water there is claimed by a scuba diver to be old model T ford trucks, an old crane and lots of old wooden equipment as well as an old headstone.&nbsp; Back in the early 1800's about 23 men died in a blast that collasped marble on top of them and crushed them.&nbsp; This is a popular swimming hole and there have been deaths of swimmers over the years, about 3 of the peoples bodies have not been found.&nbsp; There is a cave under the water of the tall cliff that is a popular jumping spot.&nbsp; people have been trapped and killed in it from diving too close.&nbsp; There have been reports of seeing people wandering around the quarry that have a "ghostly" color to them and look like ol...
